Bronson Arroyo's honesty is ... ?
I'm very curious what people think about Bronson Arroyo's comments in the above article. I'm not even really sure how to paraphrase it down. Basically, he takes over-the-counter supplements that aren't approved and how fans are too focused on the records and not focusing on the health aspects.
That's not the best way to summarize, but it's an intriguing read. I think the honesty is refreshing in some respects, but that he took it a bit far with the commentary on fast food places and so forth. That said, I'm sure there are still a lot of players looking to try and find a way to find an edge. At the very least, Arroyo is honest about it, so I'll give him credit for that. Now, he sort of holds the view that "Other things are bad and accepted, so who cares", which is not something I would, uh, support.
Not trying to get the steroid convo going again ... just thought it was a fascinating read.

I don't know how I feel about his comments
But he sure knows how to party on a boat with Pedro!
Total tool
Maybe his bag of crap is what is dragging him down. I live in Reds country, none of my Reds-fan buddies think this guy is worth a squirt of water.
We all believe he would be much better off if he concentrated on pitching rather than his music, supplements and smokin dope.
He is a total tool.

Wow just wow
Pretty outspoken guy. I wonder if he just painted a big bullseye on his chest
If the world didn't suck we would all fall off.
wonder if this is why Boston traded him
and shortly after moved Manny. Any chance they were moving players they knew to be problems with “vitamins”
baseball is a game of outs......pop out, ground out, line out, pitch out, strike out, fly out, and Fox and Bud's favorite black out
finally, someone that admits to something!
at least he had the onions to come out and say it. i think he represents a lot of people that did what they could while it wasn’t banned and is trying for a competitive edge.

Credit for the honesty,
and some of his thoughts are probably true (i.e. that fans care more about a player’s productivity than well-being). Where I lose respect for him is when he characterizes drunk driving as a normal, even harmless action. That’s BS.
Writing fail
Two times the article mentions that he’s been taking supplements his whole life (since age 5). The author even talked to his dad. But nowhere does it make clear what kind of supplements they’re talking about. Protein powder to gain weight? That kind of thing can be helpful to a kid that just can’t keep weight on, but no wonder Arroyo thinks its OK to take anything over-the-counter. That’s how he was raised.
