Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

Ted Lilly was activated from the disabled list Monday and will start the series opener vs. the Padres. Rookie Justin Berg optioned to Triple-A Iowa to make room on the roster. Berg was recalled last Thursday and made his ML debut that day, throwing two shutout innings of relief.

I thought it might have been Caridad.

But this is no big surprise, either. I suppose Berg might be back on 9/1.

Why aren't the Cubs

Putting Mathes on the 40-man? He’s been a heck of a lot better than Caridad.

don't add any more to the 40 man

they have guys (Gaub, Parker) to add in November. No reason to add more so guys have to be released when the season ends.

Caridad will be next anyway

He gets to stay until Z comes back, assuming there are no more injuries. As far as Berg coming back. This team needs 9/1 to get some bodies on the roster for what could be a very busy September. You won’t play them all, but a few arms and position players could be vital with what looks like a bunch of games to make up.
