OT: What song should the Cub players go to bat to?

Since the mood for baseball is sort of blah at the moment, we decided to have some fun. We came up with songs that each Cub player would go to bat to if they could. I am curious to see what you come up with as I know there are some pretty good sense of humors out there.

Aaron Miles, Ryan Theriot, and Mike Fontenot could all share

“Short People” by Randy Newman.

I don't think there is

but this lyric from Geoff Moore & The Distance’s “Home Run” says it pretty well.

I got some friends on base I gotta get home.
Gotta keep your eye on the ball
swing straight and true, and follow through.

OT Kinda

I thought one of the most creative songs to ever play at a ballpark was “Call on Me” for the Rockies when opposing teams go to the bullpen. I laughed the first time I heard that. Bright spot of the series for me!

None

It’s Wrigley. If it’s not the actual organ music itself, forget it.

I like the serene setting only that ballpark can provide.

Just win the next game...!

"For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)"

Seriously though, anything from the AC/DC catalog could be great. Considering the fact that it’s Wrigley, none is really needed.

Rickey has spoken. Keep the Athletics in Bump City.

Another question...

What would YOU want to come out to if you were a major-league hitter?

I think the theme to “The Shield” would be my choice.

I've always had a soft spot for "All Along the Watchtower" - the Hendrix version.

Though, I might use Ted Nugent’s “Stranglehold”, too.

Another question... Part II

What if you were a closer? And given Kevin Gregg’s recent travails, I think a lot of us have entertained that thought. What song would you want played while you were warming up in the bullpen and/or when you come into the game?

I’m old school, so I gotta go way back for mine – “One of These Days” by Pink Floyd. Awesome, awesome, awesome mostly instrumental starting off with cool wind blowing sound effects and closing with just one line of lyrics:

“One of these days, I’m going to cut you into little pieces.”

Lou Brown: "My kinda team, Charlie, my kinda team..."

I partial to

“Mother,” by Danzig. That’ll get the blood flowing, I know that much.
