Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

I did a quick search, so I don't think this has been posted, but the article is a couple of weeks old.

Too bad this kid isn't a Cub.

Absolutely wonderful!

What a moving and inspirational story! Thanks for posting it.

And who knows? Since he’s in the Pirate organization, he could very well wind up as a Cubs some day.

Cool article.

A recent episode of the Baseball Prospectus podcast delved into this story, too. I believe the Pirates also still have those two Indian pitchers who won spots in the Bucs’ system via a game show.

I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.

Great kid and a great article - very well-written

After all of the money-dumping moves the Pirates have made over the past couple of seasons, is their farm system too stacked to give him a chance to advance at a decent rate?

Probably not...

… this kid is only 19, right? It could be a while before he’s major-league ready.

I will read this soon

but if it’s Gary Smith in SI, it must be very good. Thanks for sharing it.
