Did you ever hear the story from Pete Rose
that one of the reasons he broke the all time hits record was that he never quit trying to get hits in blowouts or games that they would probably lose? He said most guys relaxed at the plate during blowouts, he kept pushing.

August
It’s the 26th of August and there hasn’t been ONE day yet this month in which the Cubs won and the Cards lost on the same day. Not even ONCE. You have to go back to July 30th to find the last time it happened. The guy who won for the Cubs that day got traded after the game – Kevin Hart.
I’ll feel better if we can just have one friggin’ day the the Cubs win and the Cards lose on the same day.
One day, the dream will come true.
Now that was depressing to see in print. :(

You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat. - Albert Einstein
