Nice story.

Let’s hope they are as generous when it comes to acquiring quality players.

Nice episode

It will be very interesting how much of this kindness is extended to all fans and how much effort will be put into (finally) putting together a team which reaches the WS. It sounds promising…

You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat. - Albert Einstein

Now that's the best story I've read about the Cubs for a long time!

People friendly owners that talk to common people and do something nice? What a novel idea. Has anyone imagined such?

This is only the beginning....Lou Pinella end of '07 season and Chicago Transit Authority (the band when they were really good).

Thanks for posting this

Hearing these kinds of stories about the new owners starts to rekindle my hope again. After way too many years under the faceless corporate entity that was the Tribune Company, you start to forget how welcome the “human touch” is.

And is it just me or is it really nice to hear that the Ricketts are actually Cub fans?

Yep, that's what struck me about it

Owners who are actually fans of the team, what a concept. Hope it bodes well for the future.

Man, see how much better it is when we talk about GOOD things related to the Cubs?

I’m sending this to every Cubs fan I know.

Agreed.

You gotta have heart, miles and miles and miles of heart...

Did I just say Miles, as in Aaron Miles?

i love the picture of the dude.

that’s the look of the guy that i want owning the cubs. a guy i can see tearing his hair out when things are going wrong, and hooting and hollering when going right.

getting excited.

It's not about money. It's about winning and getting over the hump. We've had the appetizer now, but we left the main course on the table.
