Freel's 4th team

wow

baseball is a game of outs......pop out, ground out, line out, pitch out, strike out, fly out, and Fox and Bud's favorite black out

Amazing...

I had to check the Rangers official site to see for myself. He’s been assigned to the Oklahoma City Red Hawks for now. Guess it remains to be seen if he actually gets to the Rangers. I lost track of him after the Royals let him go.

Probably will be recalled by Texas after 9/1.

Note the link says he'll be at Pawtucket initially.

He probably won’t join the Red Sox till after September 1, when rosters expand.

Gathright still has a job?

Yet Adam Greenburg doesn’t and Buck Coats hasn’t been mentioned since 2007.

Buck Coats is with the Blue Jays' Triple-A team.

Might get a callup in September.

I only brought up his name

Because I remember Sports Center the night Cubs won the division in 2007 and the announcers referenced him saying "Who is that’ and someone replied “It doesn’t matter”. I think he got moved or picked up by the Reds?

He was traded to the Reds...

… for a PTBNL who turned into Marcos Mateo.

The Reds later traded him to Toronto.

Hey, laugh all you want...

…but as a defensive replacement/pinch runner, a team could do much worse.

Agreed...

the problem is that few teams can afford to keep a guy who can’t hit just for such duties. The Cubs unfortunately tried to carry TWO guys like that (Gathright and Miles), and at the time several of the starters were also not hitting.
