Back when he was young
the 2008 Cubs had the old, beaten up Leiber.
If Gorzelanny comes close to some of those earlier years put up by Leiber, that’d be fantastic.
I was skeptical about his start tonight, but he’s thrown just as well as I’d seen him throw in Indianapolis all year. It’s very promising.

Because I'm too lazy to look it up...
How many runs have the Cubs given up in the 9th inning against the Reds recently? I know they scored at least 2 in 2 of the games at Wrigley… 1 last night… 2 tonight…
Guzman pre- and post-injury
Pre-injury 32 IP, 2 HR allowed
Post-injury 13 1/3 IP, 4HR allowed
Guzman has not been the same pitcher post injury, grooving tons of pitches
OK this is getting nuts

He was mouthing off about Cubs having issues in the ninth
failing to mention they’ve had big leads in many cases. Then said that Marmol is the closer but he can’t get his slider over for a strike and the league knows about it and won’t swing – which is the exact opposite of Marmol’s problems right now, nevermind that he’s not the closer.
