The Padres have FINALLY given up on Mark Prior, releasing him. Why did it take so long?

Ligtning in a bottle
I don’t know why, but his stuff was really good. It was a cheap flyer for them hoping he might actually return to form.
Where have I seen this before?????

Wow, he got released AGAIN!?
He just got released 3 days ago per a fanshot I already read on here! What are the chances he resigned and got released again?

All snarkiness aside
I thought the original post was that he was GOING to be released.
So, in theory, this is just confirming.
Anyway, I’m always up for a little Prior-bashing.

Uh, we took a lot longer...
what an ironic post
Has anyone seen any comments from Prior?
None of the stories I read quoted him after he was released.
Prior
So he didn’t come out and describe himself as an “employee?”
Seriously, I wonder how much money he’s made in his career. Probably enough to never have to work again.

At least $10 million...
… because that’s the deal he signed with the Cubs when he was drafted.

Imagine if Prior won't give up...
…and ends up pitching for, like, the Schaumburg Flyers. That would be really weird – kinda sad, too.
I've committed to tweeting about the Cubs for the rest of the season. (Does that sound as ridiculous as I think it does?) Anyway, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me here.
No surprise
Prior’s mechanics destroyed his career. He should be a warning story about having proper pitching mechanics.
And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first time at Fight Club, you have to fight.
