Instead of having a zillion FanPosts asking about how the view is from various seats at Wrigley Field, or how to get there from various points around the Midwest, I have decided to make this post which will remain permanently on the right sidebar under "BCB Specials and Site Info".

Use this post also, for questions you have about road games that you're traveling to.

If you have a question like this, post it here, and people can answer you. Comments will get closed every 21 days -- that's the way the site is set up. If that happens, email me and I will reopen them.

For the former, yes.

For the latter… not really. Some people may want to take the train, and that’s not on Google Maps. There is some further useful info below, but it’s also possible that some people might have tips & tricks that aren’t in a web link that might be helpful.

Sorry seatdata is not that good for Wrigley

Because of the post issue it really will not tell you if the seats have obstruction in the Terrace section and the 500 section in the back of
the upper deck. Not bad to look at but do NOT assume your seat is not obstructed in either of the sections above because it varies literally seat by seat and row by row.

Here is the RTA Trip Planner LInk. Here is the link for public transportation information to Wrigley Field. The red line of the “L”, the north-south “22 – Clark” bus, and east-west “152-Addison” bus all go near or by Wrigley Field. You might also check out the DeVry shuttle.

Google Transit planner is not always that good...

because it relies too much on the arrival/departure time you put in. So I must ask this:

If I’m leaving from work in Deerfield @ approx 4pm on a weekday, and traveling via the Lake-Cook Metra stop, what is the best way to get to Wrigley? Preferably with the least amount of walking/transfers.

Coors Advice

Hi all. I find myself newly single, my youngest is packed and ready to leave for college in a few weeks so I decided to treat myself to a trip to Coors this coming weekend. I’ve never been to Denver or Coors so any suggestions as to what to see, where to go, things to do outside of the games Friday, Saturday and Sunday would be greatly appreciated. I’ll be staying at the Hyatt Regency, which is supposedly convenient to some 16th Street Pedestrian Mall, which provides a free shuttle to within four blocks of the park. As of now, I’m not planning on renting a car, so things within walking distance of downtown would be preferable.

Thanks, and I’ll try to bring home a few W’s !!

You’re only a block or so from 16th Street, which is a one-mile long pedestrian mall that’s served by free mall shuttles. You’ll want to take the shuttle to the Market Street Station (right between Market and Blake streets) and then walk up either Market or Blake to ballpark (20th and Blake).
Plenty of restaurants/shops near your hotel and all up and down the mall. Check out Denver Pavilions, which features restaurants/bars/live music/movie theater/book store. You will also find plenty of bars/watering holes/etc. near Coors Field, especially on Market and Blake streets.
If you’re into museums, Denver Art Museum, Colorado History Museum are all within walking distance.
If you want to visit a truly wonderful independent book store, check out Tattered Cover, at 16th and Wynkoop. And if you want to take a nice stroll, continue down 16th Street, cross over the pedestrian bridge and walk around Commons Park, which is close to Platte River/Cherry Creek. Another popular destination is Larimer Square, a one-block shopping district between 14th and 15th streets. I’m sure the hotel people will help you.
Downtown Denver is easy and safe to walk around, and the area around the ballpark will definitely be full of transplanted Chicagoans with Cub apparel. I’ve never had any problems with Rockies fans during a Cubs/Rox series, but with the Rox playing exceptionally well this year, the Rox fans will likely be more enthusiastic than usual.

Bleacher tickets at other gates?

I couldn’t find this elsewhere on the site, sorry if it’s been asked before.

Can one enter the ballpark at any gate with Bleacher tickets? I know in the past we had to use the Bleacher gates, but since the reconstruction the main concourse and Bleacher concourse are connected, at least at left field.

I ask because my wife and I once again have Bleacher tickets for a bobblehead night (8/31). I’m there to see the Cubs but she’s there to get the Billy Williams bobblehead. Last time (8/11, Ryno) we and our kids almost didn’t get the bobbleheads because the allotment at the Bleacher gate had been given out, by 5:35pm (7:05 game). (We talked our way over to the gate by the fire station, and they still had a few.) I figure this was because Bleacher fans arrive early to get good seats. I’ve never had a problem getting a “first 10,000 fans” promotion at the main gates, arriving 60-90 minutes before the first pitch.

So if we can enter anywhere, I’d plan to enter at a main concourse gate (to be sure we get our swag), then head over to the Bleachers. Can that be done?

sitting in the bleachers

My husband and I are going to be sitting in the bleachers for the first time tomorrow night. My husband won’t be able to get there till 6:30. If I show up early, can I hold a seat for him? How far in advance of the game should I get to the ballpark? Thanks.
