Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

I woke this morning to hear about a parent who sued a little league for $300k (took a few years, but she won $125k), because her son wasn't "taught how to slide" and he injured his leg sliding into third.

I thought this had to be a joke, so I got to work, and (being the company man I am) I started searching for it. I found a site that had a bunch of lawsuits similar listed. This is horrific IMO.

The title link takes you to a bunch of them, where the link on the $125k is just that, the verdict.

Sorry Al, I try not to curse on your site, but this is bull$h*t

funny

being the company man would encompass not surfing the internet, I’m sure. I got a chuckle from that. I know you said in jest.

I couldn’t echo your sentiments any louder. This is B.S. in the worst way. What’s next suing because a kid got hit by a pitch?

No, next will be suing...

because they think their kid isn’t getting absolutely equal playing time as the other kids.

  • I can remember when we used to have to try out for a team; sometimes we didn’t make it.
  • I can remember when I didn’t get to play some positions on the field or on the ice; now (with the exception of pitching and goaltending) every kid has to be like some interchangeable part on the field/ice.
  • I can remember when we didn’t do well the coaches used to tell us to practice more at home and push the parents to get involved more; now it’s, “you’re OK” with some parents think practice is babysitting time.
  • I can remember how great it was to get a trophy because we won something; now every kid gets a trophy regardless how their team does.

Just win the next game...!

I remember all of that, and my age group had two levels, one for better players, one for those left over who deserved to still play just not as good as the others.

baseball is a game of outs......pop out, ground out, line out, pitch out, strike out, fly out, and Fox and Bud's favorite black out

Doggie Stalker finds this suit MORE offensive

Get a life people and go pet some dogs while you are at it.

OMG

That is absurd…I had to read it twice to actually believe I read it the first time…I love the woman at the end, acting like the cops need to be called for someone’s radio blaring as they open their door on their way to dog walking haha

Also

I go to a dog park here in orlando with my pup several times a week…Today when I went I stopped at the gas station to get something to drink, I came out and there was a full fledged fire engine and an upset woman yelling at me because I left my dog in the car for 5 minutes…he had actually just gotten out of the lake at the dog park….get a life lady, I wasn’t abandoning my dog

Isn't 5 mins

Along time to leave any living thing in a vehicle? Especially early August in FL? Not saying your being irresponsible, but given some of the human and animal deaths/injury resulting from heat exposure it does not seem that shocking that someone would call authorities.

yah 5 minutes would generally be a long time down here

but he was wet from the swimming, had access to water, and it was surprisingly cool out…i’ve left him in compromising positions before, but I can honestly say this was not one

This is the world we all live in now

People who go out of their way to find new ways to be offended. They obviously don’t have much to do or simply need a life.

I would imagine you made sure the pooch was not left in a compromised situation.

Just win the next game...!

got to love the abundance of lawyers

this reminds me of my girlfriend being recently listed as being negligent in a lawsuit filed against her school board (she is a music teacher) because a kid failed to catch a football thrown to him during a…consensual game of catch during field day with another student and suffered bruised ribs
