Anyone seen/used "Cubbie Baseball Live" App?
It appears that this new app, available for iPhone users claims to be a "news aggregator" for Cub fans including the Chicago Tribune, the Bleachers and Bleed Cubbie Blue. Has SBN permitted this link to the BCB post/stories or will this site quickly lose access to BCB? Before I shell out the $1.99 for this app, I was wondering if anyone has seen it, tried it and also, I was wondering if Al had any hand in putting it together, since it includes BCB content.
This is the kind of crap I get into when there is no Cubs baseball to watch. :-(

Nope.
Should be free. I saw it, won’t buy it.

I'd shell out the $1.99 and give up an iced coffee (I drink 2-3 a week)
if I knew (a) some of the money went to BCB and (b) BCB was going to stay on the app.
What say you Al?

bcb is so easy to use on the Iphone... and it's free.
We use bcb and Espn’s gamecast regularly.

If this was free I wouldn't have an issue with bcb being linked
Since they want money, they should have to kick back to those people they are linking.
Just say no to players named Aaron on the Cubs.

Does anyone watch game from thier iphone?
I have a mlb.tv account and would love to be able to but I have an LG Dare…Because the Dare isn’t compatible with the script for either streaming live video or audio off mlb.com, I can’t even listen to games as I had planned to when I purchased the phone

I watch regularly on my iPhone
Works good on 3g only… Even better on wifi. Good money to spend. For some reason I get games that I can’t get on ei sometimes…

I watch on my 3G all the time
Wrigster’s experience is like mine – watchable over the phone network, and remarkably good on WiFi.
The “Condensed Games” feature is also very nice – they basically edit the video down to just the pitches or plays that affect the outcome of the game. It generally runs 6 or 7 minutes, and is a nice way to quickly review a game.

I do
I held out buying the app until they offered all live games for those with mlb.tv account, which I have.
I bought for two reasons…
1)There are some times when I can’t be at a computer or TV to watch a game and I’d still like to watch/listen.
2) At first, I didn’t want to shell out for another mlb media option since I paid for premium, but someone on BCB suggested the extra cost is for the additional tech work to make it mobile ready. That was all the rational I needed. Hopefully it’ll be combined next year or provide some discounted option.
I got it a few weeks ago. I like and it works well. Few things…
-Streaming live video eats battery faster than the fat guy in man vs food eats food. I need to be plugged in to watch an entire game.
-Depending on connection and network capacity the video can be chopy on occasion. Its not bad enough for me to be disappointed since I’m sitting in a park, hanging out, watching the cubs game. (I have the 3G not 3GS)
-It does not allow you to select home or away feed (at least that I know).
-The radio sounds great. I’ve gone on long bike rides and the signal never broke up or got fuzzy. Also, does not eat battery as fast. If I am fully charged I can listed to the entire game.

Honestly BCB IS my Cubs news aggregator
I hardly ever go to cubs.com anymore. Everything I need regarding the cubs is right here.
the mlb app for the iphone on the other hand is great (except for the stats, they don’t list ERA for pitchers!)

I agree… cubs.com is pretty worthless. Carrie or Al/Josh/BCB community (even BLou!) not even a debate for me!

Here in San Diego
I listen to Cubs games on my computer, or when on the road, on my iPhone. I’ve even got an fm transmitter in the car so I can listen through the car radio while driving.
