Jason Dubois Traded To Mets For PTBNL
This was probably done to make room for whoever is getting sent down today. Dubois is 2nd on the all-time Iowa list with 68 HR.

Hmm. Bummer.
I liked the guy, but I never thought he was going to get much chance in the upper levels of the organization. The one thing I don’t ever wanna see is him crushing ’em on us for some reason.
This is what some said, last time.
But fact of the matter is that Dubois is a quality AAA player, nothing more, nothing less.
Bon voyage, Jason.

He is of no significance in the system,
but if they want him badly enough, and we play them six more times this year, I agree with you.
I hope (but doubt) we get a player who may make our 25 man at some point.
I doubt Dubois winds up on the Mets' 25-man roster.
He’s probably headed to Buffalo.

I hope that as well...
…I would guess it probably won’t happen, but oh well. These types of minor league deals happen allllllllllll the time.
This is the kind of thing Hendry does and it is good
DuBois is never going to make it with the Cubs. Maybe he would get a Sept call up but that is it. Hendry is letting him go because the depleted Mets might actually be able to give him a spot. If he does do well the Cubs might get a half way decent prospect in return.

+1
He has no immediate future with this team, and at 27, his time is running out.

He is not 27...
He is 30 years old. And the Cubs didn’t need to trade him to open a roster spot for someone today. With Dubois gone, it leaves Iowa with only 22 active players.

You're right, he's 30, my bad
But his time is running out either way, and he has NO future with the Cubs. If he performs well, we get a decent prospect. Why do you care so much about the winning of the I-Cubs? They’re supposed to give us players for the future, and Dubois has none with the Cubs.

I don't really care about the Iowa Cubs...
Except the guy(s) there who should be with the big club (Stevens) and the guys who should be there as opposed to Chicago (Jeff SamardzijaFarnsworth)

Then why do you care
That they only have 22 active players. This is a good trade because as I’ve said twice, Dubois has no future with this club, and if he performs well like he’s been in Iowa, the Cubs can get a good prospect in return.

Dubois isn't going to the major league Mets.
He’s already been assigned to Buffalo.

I know
But he will probably be a September callup, and he couldn’t do any worse than Fernando Martinez.

And in typical fashion
He’ll play in September vs. Cubs and have the best weekend of his career!
Would you be surprised?
Did you see that DeRosa is only batting .183 at STL?
That’s really surprising..

Yea that's going to change soon
But I am surprised by that.
He says
his wrist hurts everytime he swings….might be a factor but he still seems to be able to poke the ball out of the park.

And BLou

I am very happy for Dubois..
This is good for everyone involved. I hope he gets a chance and makes something of it – looks like Angel Pagan’s had the same fate there.
Could the PTBNL be?
Billy Wagner. He would be worth a shot just as much as BJ Ryan was. Wagner is mentioned in Yahoo Sports as wanting to be traded.
MAYBE THE PTBNL IS JOHAN SANTANA
He can throw a fastball at 87MPH and make you look like a fool. He can spray lines drives to right field. He can put up with crappy offense and take the loss. He is Randy Wells. He is the most interesting pitcher in the world. Stay healthy, my friends.
It was Jason Dubois that....
played RF on that imfamous last day of the 2004 season when Sosa left the ballpark before the first pitch was thrown. Dubois went 2 for 4 with a homer and a double.
Yawn
More BCBers peeing their pants over the developments of the aging journeyman flotsam of the Cub system.

"Peeing their pants"?
Hardly. This was simply a report on a Cubs transaction, nothing more.

If I did not know better
I would buy that conspiracy theory that Blou is Al trying to keep things "lively’ and add an element of twisted humor. Unfortunately
since Blou has posted during games that Al is at that does not work but maybe he is giving Mark an extra allowance to do this. Normally I might add that the posts are at the level of a 14 year old but that would be a major insult to 14 year olds.

Question
Who’s first on the I-Cubss all-time homer list?
Leading a Minor League team in HR is a double-edged honor
i’d never heard of Joe Hicks until I read the link, but looking at Baseball Reference, he spent parts of four years at Iowa, and was one of only 6 I-Cubs (out of 32) who never got even a cup of coffee at the big leagues. Looked like a DH type who occasionally stood at 1B.
It's a simple question, Doctor: would you eat the moon if it were made of ribs??
My best Jason dubois moment.
I saw him go 3 for 3 with 3 homeruns. He never got the chance to go for his fourth bc they only played 7 innings due to a doubleheader. Yeah it was in the minors but that’s impressive for slow pitch softball.

Dubois was still in the CuBorg?
wow … i need to read the minors reports a whole lot more closely.
He had his moment two years ago. Sorry it didn’t work out.
