Hamilton's reaction

I would like to cut the guy some slack as he had done some remarkable things but I am just a cynic about the idea that this it the ONLY time he fell off the wagon.

And this is why you don't trust a crackhead
The Cubs NEVER had a chance to get this guy.
And man, am I glad for it.
There is no such thing as an ugly female breast
if the cubs kept him i probably wouldnt care about his past
but i would have a problem with this
He can throw a fastball at 87MPH and make you look like a fool. He can spray lines drives to right field. He can put up with crappy offense and take the loss. He is Randy Wells. He is the most interesting pitcher in the world. Stay healthy, my friends.

as far as im concerned
This is half the reason I spent my teenage years dreaming of becoming a professional baseball player. Go get ’em, Hamilton.

He's probably not as dumb as the girls licking whipped cream off him...
…but it’s pretty close.

But would a sober Josh Hamilton agree to be photographed laying across the bar shirtless, covered in whip cream with his head between a random girl’s crotch?
Uh… why not? Sheesh. Who gives a damn what he does off the field? He wasn’t breaking any laws. He fell of the wagon. Lost of recovering addicts do. Sheesh.
Forget all that other stuff. I gotta believe.
No, he's a human being who made a mistake and owned up to it.

+1
He’s definitely owing up to it. He called his wife AND the Rangers immediately after it happened, so it’s not like he was avoiding it or anything.

Sorry but I am not sure of that
We are supposed to believe this is a one time event, the ONLY time anything like this has ever happened and somehow there are pictures of it ? I just find that hard to believe. As for it being none of our business I would gladly accept that IF Hamilton had not made it is almost full time off season work to go around and speak about how he had reformed. Let us assume for the sake of argument that this WAS a one time lapse , why what better teaching tool for a man who spends so much time teaching about the evils of drugs, drinking etc and how he had overcome it than to discuss what happened ? I don’t want to throw the guy out the window or anything but there is hypocrisy involved here and I don’t think he has addressed that. He put his life on display so he needs to deal with consequences .

and if he were playing for the Cubs
you’d be defending him.

I'd be willing to bet that his wife cares what he does off the field.
But what the hell, he only took a vow before God and other witnesses to be faithful to her, so what does it matter?

being an alcoholic or other kind of addict
means you’re always on the edge of falling off the cliff. It’s an illness.
And you don’t necessarily know what his marriage arrangements are. I know plenty of people who are perfectly comfortable with their partner touching people of the opposite sex in the manner that is depicted in those pictures. Not everyone is monogamous, and not everyone is restricted.
But it’s irrelevant, because he didn’t make that vow to us. As usual, I’m in the corner of saying we’re in no position to judge.
Forget all that other stuff. I gotta believe.

I guess that's true that this is a forgivable offense
because I looked back through the pictures again, and not one of them shows Josh initiating contact with Carlos Zambrano and then throwing him out of the bar.

He called her right after it happened
He though he’d have one drink, and went overboard. He sounds really sorry for it.

He IS human...this doesn't mean that he is no longer
A believer. Not a crackhead, RECOVERING alcoholic.
As an exdrug-user, teenage alcoholic, and ex idiot now a Christian/believer, it doesn’t mean that I don’t have thoughts. I just don’t act on those thoughts. I bet Josh Hamilton gets alot better opportunities to screw up. Well, judging from the pics, I know he gets better opportunities! Lol
this isn’t a religious comment, don’t turn it into one…
Drinking problem?
More like a drinking Grand Slam!

This is between Josh and his wife
