OT.....Patrick Kane arrested for robbing cabbie?
I thought his salary from the Blackhawks was enough!
Can't afford the cab fare after a night of drinking

they got angry with him because he didn't have 20 CENTS in change
Twenty f-ing cents!

So they weren't even going to leave the cabbie a tip?
What a couple of jackasses.

I am sure there are a lot of details we do not know
and no one can guarantee the cabbie is honest, just as you cannot say Kane is honest or guilty. Lets see what happens before jumping to conclusion.
baseball is a game of outs......pop out, ground out, line out, pitch out, strike out, fly out, and Fox and Bud's favorite black out
I really hope
there is more to this story then what is in the article. If not I’m ashamed of Partick.

One of many lessons learned from HIMYM
"The other sports are just sports. Baseball is a love." ~Bryant Gumbel
A dumb mistake of youth, nothing more
Don’t anybody go crapping on the beloved Blackhawks. Kane good liquored up and acted like a dumbass 20 year old. Not the end of the world. Hopefully he learns from the mistake and it hastens his growing up.

I guess the underage drinking is OK with you, too, then.
"You can observe a lot just by watching." ~ Yogi Berra
Most 20 year olds get liquored up
and do stupid stuff.
Beating up people over 20 cents, is not one of those things I’d file under “mistakes of youth”.

That's the difference
If the report is true and Kane pummeled a 62 yr. old man while yelling “You don’t know who you’re fucking with!”, then that’s considerably worse than a 20 yr. old making a stupid mistake.
The Blackhawks are second only to the Cubs on my list of sports loves and this story (once again, IF true), absolutely makes me sick to my stomach.
On the other hand, it might help management make some tough decisions come next summer; lock up Toews and Keith next Summer and exile Kane to Edmonton or Calgary.

OH so...
we should get rid of one of the best players in the league because of THIS??? Wow.
2009 Cubs Record: 10-3 (9-3 home, 1-0 road)
This may actually be good for him
to wake up and smell the coffee – in more ways than one.
Even before this, he’s likely the odd-man out when it comes to big a RFA contract come next summer. Let’s just say he doesn’t know the defencive game too much. I’ll let it at that.
Just win the next game...!
My goodness, I agree.
It happens. Thanks for the reasonable, thoughtful assessment of the situation.

In case you didn't
know OT = Off Topic. The Cubs are the topic of this blog so when discussing something other than the Cubs posters use OT in the title of their post. In case you haven’t nolticed in all your anger we discuss many things on this site. :-)

Hopefully Kane is given some jail time for this
Not anything serious, a few nights will do, just so he learns his lesson. Just because the world is at your feet at age 20, doesn’t mean you get to punch people over .20 cents, or over anything.
Him drinking isn’t an excuse either since he isn’t of age to do so (I personally don’t care about him drinking if he can do it without beating up innocent people).
Just say no to players named Aaron on the Cubs.
Speaking of him drinking
What would he do if the Hawks won the Stanley Cup last year and they were spraying alcohol all over the place? Just sit on the side and watch?

I have a feeling that what he stands to lose in endorsements, lawsuits, possibly being...
…run out of Chicago, etc., will be much greater punishments than a few token nights in jail.

I've always wondered how that would work
Andruw Jones was like 19 when he won the WS. Miguel Cabrera wasn’t 21. I’m sure there were some basketball players who won not long after high school.
I’m sure they party it up, just off the camera as much as possible.
Just say no to players named Aaron on the Cubs.
I would imagine if team officials cover this
with the authorities and assure the player(s) are properly escorted when outside the confines of the arena/stadium/ballpark there would be no issue.
It’s letting them go (e.g. leave the premises) on their merry way is when issues can arise.
Just win the next game...!
This makes me sick
because Buffalo has a lot of pride in Kane (not to mention the Sabres and the sport of Hockey) and to see him making headlines in such a boneheaded way is ridiculous…The Bars there are open until 4, I can only imagine what type of night he had to do something so stupid
What an awful summer for young chicago stars
Kane beats up an old man, Derrek Rose cheats on his SATs, and Geovany Soto smokes weed.
Perhaps we should try behaving ourselves next summer.
Just say no to players named Aaron on the Cubs.
You forgot Rose's gang sign...

Can we please wait until some of the dust settles
More info is coming out of this. Don’t rush to conclusions. Knee-jerk reactions are sometimes wrong.

The cabbie’s lawyer is talking about “working things out”. Sounds like someone’s looking for a payday; hmmmmm who would have thought.
Just win the next game...!
