OK, fess up - is someone here this person?
The Onion (note: a satirical newspaper) runs another Cub-related story, and raises the question: who is this man? It sure seems like they could be a member of Bleed Cubbie Blue!

Kinda looks like this guy

A little bit of advice: don’t ask him what’s in the briefcase…

There's something about that movie
that I really enjoy.

first time I saw it, I missed the opening credits...
…so I went almost the whole movie before I finally realized that was Michael Douglas. The haircut and glasses really threw me.
As for the movie itself, yes, there is something about it that I really enjoy, but in a kinda weird way. I can certainly identify with a lot of the frustrations he had but the way he, umm… “resolved” his problems was very disturbing.

Not me, but I wish he would stop by for peanuts, Pepsi and a dog every game.
I play a radio every game as loud as it will go, and no one has ever complained— I dare you ;-)
I bang on my hotdog bin, which has unfortunately made a little girl cry, and I boo bad play(er)s, and I wear glasses.
However, this isn’t me.
Come visit me inside Wrigley along the Addison side mezzanine fence straight up from 1st base.

A definite clue here
“He also seems to really hate Derrek Lee,” Brodeur added, “which I don’t get, because he’s our best player.”
I think a quick site search for stuff posted in March/April can help us narrow our list of suspects down.

I've seen him before!!
In 2006 I went to a game with my family. It was in September…Rich Hills complete game shutout to be exact.
My cousin tried talking to him because he seemed to have a lot of facts. She wanted to know a few things. He completely ignored her. She tapped him on the shoulder again. He ignored her again. She finally said “you’re rude”. He replied “I paid to see the Cubs and not hear your voice. Good day”.
I’ll never forget that face!

Weird, isn't it?
I posted this, and even included the note about it being from a satirical newspaper, just to be sure everyone understood…..and here’s someone who says they’ve interacted with the guy!
Maybe The Onion story has a basis in fact? Or maybe they just captured a “type” really well? Perhaps we’ll never know…..

I'm thoroughly confused...
…though maybe this is just another sign of just how good The Onion is at what they do.

OMG, that's it!
I would amend the article as follows:
“He also seems to really hate Derrek Lee,” Brodeur added, “which I don’t get, because he’s our best player.” Conversely, whenever career minor-leaguer Micah Hoffpauir steps to the plate, the fan practically goes into convulsions of joy. “Oh, yeah,” says Brodeur. “He turns up the radio real loud and starts hooting like an owl. It’s just plain weird.”

This is my fave theory so far....
The question is, will he retain his access to information in the Ricketts Era?

Since the Rickets are from Nebraska
I think they will appreciate hard working farm animals.
