Ha, I sent this out on Twitter earlier today.
It’s really an amazing clip – cute and yet heartbreaking at the same time. A cautionary tale for anyone who takes a young child to a ballgame.

Dave, your comment had me fear that something awful happened to the girl
I was pleasantly surprised to watch the video and find nothing of the sort.
They just showed this video on CNN too.
good stuff.

Here's the family's appearance this morning on the Today Show:

Makes me smile
every time I see it. There is something that is just right about that whole scene… except losing the ball ;)

It's amazing how this incident has tweaked the public's fancy
This is not the first such video captured with the same theme. “TWIB” has featured such kid antics with foul balls in the past, as have other sports networks.
Amazing that a night at the ball game leads to appearences on various morning news shows, and other cable channels,
Perhaps it’s an antidote to all of the political venom and gloom and doom economic stories that’s being spouted everywhere and anywhere right now in various newscasts.
Maybe we need something gentle, and nice for a change.

That's not a bad theory.
Of course, it also helps that the Phillies are the World Series championships and a virtual lock to go back to the postseason to try and repeat. One wonders whether this clip would’ve taken off at a Pirates-Nationals game.

At a Pirates/Nationals game...
… everyone in the park could have had a foul ball.
