  1. Denial- "You know what? We can still make the playoffs. We just gotta sweep the Cardinals, Brewers, and Giants on the road. And look we play Pittsburgh at the end of the month! We can do this!"
  2. Anger- "WHY THE @#$% DID WE GET RID OF DEROSA! WHY DIDN'T WE SIGN BRIAN ROBERTS OR JAKE PEAVY?!! GO AFTER CLIFF LEE AND CASH IN ON TRADE DEADLINE! MILTON BRADLEY? AHH @#$%!"
  3. Bargaining- "Please. I just want to see them win a world series ONCE in my lifetime. More the better, but at least once! I'll give anything... money, cars, house, wife.... Just please!
  4. Depression-"It's never going to happen. Why should I even care anymore? We will just end up getting swept out of the playoffs even if we did make it. After all, we are cursed."
  5. Acceptance-"And for the Chicago Cubs..... There is always next year."
