BA's Top 20 Prospects in AZL this year
Not surprisingly, no Cubs listed. They did note that Austin Kirk would've ranked high had he stayed in AZL longer.

how do you feel abou the Cubs Venezuelan and Dominican approaches? THE AZL is made up of a lot of first timers from the foreign lands. Just curious as to your take.
I tend to think we are about a lower 3rd of all MLB teams in scouting and signing players from that region.

we had this discussion midseason
while I would like to see the Cubs more aggressive in Latin America, if only to keep us in the game if a top guy comes around, I can’t fault the strategy of spreading the wealth and focusing on Asia, particularly since, by most accounts, we’ve been hauling in quality talent there without the big bidding wars of Latin America. We have actually developed some decent talent from Latin America … but they typically are the under the radar types as compared to the Joel Altagracia or Larry Suarez’s (seemed like mixed reports on big Larry this year).

did you read about the Cardinals
renegging and dropping out on the 16 year Domincan OF for $3.1MM?
He has some degenerative condition in his right eye and sees 20/30 out of it. I am suprised by the Cards.
I’d love for the Cubs to kick his tires.

I'd be curious about exploring that as well
I doubt it, but would love it.
