Around SBN: Tiger Woods, Tony Romo Grouped Together At Pebble Beach

Wacky video from the 1957-59 Chicago TV show "Shock Theatre"; shot at Wrigley Field in May 1959. (The audio doesn't really match the video, but the video's the most important thing.)

Didn't know Mr. Bean got his start in Chicago

Looks like the pair got onto the field after billing themselves as left-handed batting practice pitchers. Oh, wait…

IT’S HIGGY!

Did you see the prices for tickets?

You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat. - Albert Einstein

It would be interesting to try and ID as many of the Cubs players as can be from this film...

Any idea who the actor and “actress” were? The lady wears a paper plate on her face very well.

Some info on the actor and actress....

… can be found here.

As for the Cubs players, as co-author of “Cubs By The Numbers” it was easy for me to ID several of them — #30 is Dick Drott, #11 is Cal Neeman, #2 is Lee Walls.

Really enjoyed the info

as I was a big fan of Creature Features and the 3:30 movie as a kid. I still try to see all those movies around Halloween each year. The mention of wolfbane in both the 1931 Dracula and in the quote “Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright.” from Wolfman prompted us to grow it in our garden. It just started blooming a couple days ago in time for the full harvest moon (which is on Oct. 4th this year-the last day of the Cubs regular season) .

Why did he make the woman wear a mask?

That’s the only thing I found “shocking” about this. Otherwise, great archival footage of the Friendly Confines.

If you read the info link I posted above...

… it explains the mask.
