Cubs' Hotel in St. Louis?
Sorry to take up a whole fanpost with this, but....
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHICH HOTEL THE CUBS PLAYERS STAY AT IN ST. LOUIS?????
(A few months ago, I expected the Cubs trip to St. Louis to be a huge series. I purchased weekend tickets and a plane ticket from TN to StL. Unfortunately, the Cubs didn't hold up their end of the bargain. I think my friends and I will still make the most of it, but grrrrrrr....it might be tough to stomach if the Cards clinch that weekend)
Thanks in advance. --Ghost

And on the 9PM WGN News
A Cubs stalker was arrested when she found out the hotel the team was staying at in St Louis. The stalkers response “I don’t mind going to jail, I will always have a locket of hair I grabbed from Ryan Theriot.”
Sorry, I’m sure your not a crazed stalker but it’s all I could think of when I read the post.

Ha
I usually try to stay at the same hotel as the players. Call me a stalker… but I kinda like waiting in the coffee line with Zambrano, riding the elevators with Aramis, chatting it up about fatherhood with Hoff, running on the treadmill next to Len.

Ted Lilly does not eat cereal
He is energized by fission byproducts. Here, Ted’s arm is being examined ..

All appears AOK.

I tried to email you but it bounced, apparently.
The Cubs no longer list road hotels in the media guide — security concerns, actually. I have a 2007 media guide that lists the hotels they stayed at then. Unfortunately, that media guide is in Chicago and I’m in New York, so it’s pretty well useless to get the info right now.

Last time I was in StL (3 or 4 years ago?)
all the visiting teams stayed at the one in Union Station. Hyatt or Hilton, Looks like it’s a Marriott now

Either the Westin or the Hyatt
I’d guess the Westin, if anyone recalls the news story from late May in which Piniella chewed out Jimmy Bank.

I have tickets...
to the Sept 19 game and I’m just praying the Cardinals clinch before then. Or after then, I don’t care as long as it’s not that day. I think if it looks like it’s going to happen I might have to hit the Metro a little bit early that day. :(

i remember reading it’s a new one this year, with a casino.
It's not about money. It's about winning and getting over the hump. We've had the appetizer now, but we left the main course on the table.

If that is the case
It would be Luminere Place (Location of Old Embassy Suites, On the Landing)

Long time STL resident
they used to stay in Union Station, which was nice because they would all hang out in the lobby (there was a nice bar and a big lounge). they now stay at the new lumiere place which is a hotel and casino. very nice place next to the river and a lot of bars. definitely walking distance from busch (lumiere is on the landing)

That is correct.
The Hyatt at Union Station was the hotel of choice, but they have moved to Lumiere Place. I saw the players in the casino back during the weekend series in April, so presume they are booked there again.
I had a fanpost on the subject of their April stay, but can’t seem to locate it.

I know I am outta shape
but walking distance? Isnt it like 9 blocks from the casino to Busch?
Maybe I am just weigh too fat and lazy for a walk like that.
I personally loved the International Bowling Hall of Fame and Museum and cardinals hall or fame in the basement

They stay at the Days Inn north of the dome.
looks rough, but don’t let it scare you.
Just kidding, they normally stay at the Westin, and I’ve heard of a few staying at the Millennium (yes, we’re still celebrating the millennium here).

Slightly related, but not...
I stayed at the same hotel in Cincy when the Reds had a series against the Giants a couple years ago. I met Matt Morris, Mark Sweeney, and few other Giants players; we all just ripped on Bonds, quite fun. They bought me a couple Jagerbombs…rough night…

They Hyatt in Union Station
I’m not sure if that is where the Cubs stay, but I think the Reds stay there.
