I hope for Lou's sake...

…he’s a better co-pilot on car rides than Sinatro.

Maybe DeJesus has a better GPS than Sinatro.

A little more info on this via Paul Sullivan. Sinatro will take over DeJesus’ “administrative duties” as well as work with the catchers.

Hm, I wonder whether...

…Sinatro might be having some health issues that would keep him off the field. Or maybe he’s just tired of dodging line drives.

Or, maybe he's just not a really good coach.

Have you been unhappy with him at first base?

It’s hard for me to judge.

Not really.

Seems to me that 1B coach is about the easiest of the coaching positions.

It does seem that way.

All you have to do is time the pitcher’s windup and yell “BACK!” a lot.

I was also wondering about Sinatro's health when I heard about this.

Do you think there will be any change to the Cubs baserunning? Do you think this would be a positive or a negative to base stealing?

Hey, it's a new century!

Cardenal at first would have been sweet

But Ivan will do. I imagine not many ex-catchers are first base coaches. Not known to steal many bases, plus sadly the knees give out.

With DeJesus now in a more public position and Maddux joining, I wonder if this serves as a suble message to future FA players…ie come play for the Cubs, we will hire/take care of you forever. Welcome to the Cub family.

Hire locally, think World Seriesly
