Mlb2kcomparewrigley

MLB2K10 has finally removed that ridiculous in-stadium advertising they put in their forgettable 2K9 title. Honestly, the 2K games are nothing compared the the "The Show" titles, but I made the post last year when they added this advertising, so I wanted to follow up on it. It was dumb to put it in, and now they're saving some face but "The Show" is still a superior game.

Really nice looking graphics from the games.

The lower “Wrigley” photo is pre-bleacher expansion. Kinda small, but it looks vintage 2004-2005.

It's even worse what they did in Washington

In the 09 game they added a 20’ wall in left field… that doesn’t actually exist. They had to do it in the game fit the GINORMOUS State Farm ad on it, since the 8’ wall wasn’t visible to players from the home plate view while batting.

If you think the graphics in the 2K games are good, check out MLB 10 The Show… unreal. I saw a clip the other day in HD and thought I was watching a highlight from the 2009 season… but nope, in-game footage.

The 2K10 photo looks real besides the builidngs.

I wonder if in 2K12 or whenever it’s built, they’ll have the triangle builiding.

They could, but...

… since it’s not really part of the area where the game is played, why bother?

By that logic,

why bother having the buildings in the background they have now?

Because that's part of the setting for the game.

Why would you show the Triangle Building when it’s BEHIND the field?

yep - I've gotten roof (foul) balls over by the YumYum building before

It will be interesting to see how the new building affects roof balls. Depending on how they fence/block it off, the result could be most dismaying. Perhaps this is just another nefarious step in Dr. Evil Kenney’s master plan to destroy all the ballhawks…

If the MLB games remain true

Then most of the “major” artifacts around the stadium should be in the game… over the years that has been one of the major upgrades to sports games – their presentation. They try year after year to make it “feel” like you’re watching a real ball game. I wouldn’t be surprised if they include the building in the establishing shots for whatever year’s game it ends up making it to.

Oh, one other thing that makes MLB 2K10 horrible… they kept Steve Phillips for color “analysis.” Haha.

I have a 360 and a Wii.

So i’m stuck with the 2k series. I hope 2k10 is going to be at least a little better than year’s past.

I'm pretty sure EVERYONE here would like Out of the Park Baseball for PC

The new one comes out soon. It’s like a GM game, it’s sweet. I’m trying to put together some good 2010 opening day rosters and junk for the one that I have now and start a Cubs season.

Randy Wells. A product of the Roy Halladay School of Pitching, located in Toronto, Canada. Possible relocation.

I'm so done with 2K baseball.

The Wrigley Field does look better than last year’s model. But I don’t know how many frozen franchises I can take and bad game mechanics before losing my mind.

Totally buying “The Show” now that I have a PS3.
