Shame
Would have liked to see him in a Cubs uni for a season.. Alot of ships have passed. I hope we have what it takes because we are getting down to drift wood.

Outside of Granderson
(who probably wasn’t realistic anyway), I haven’t really felt any sense of loss as all these names get ticked off the list.
I must commend Hendry and Ricketts for not being impulsive or impatient.

Exactly.
And it’s not Ricketts — this is all Hendry. Ricketts believes in allowing his managers to do their jobs and I do not see him meddling in baseball decisions at all.

interesting one-year deal
I wonder how old he really is?

that's a good point ...
I can’t think of anybody who’s gone someplace else this offseason, other than Granderson, whom I would have liked to see on the Cubs.

This is one of the few
players who I thought really could contribute nicely to how this team is made. As time has went on I had been hoping the cost would continue to drop. Curious to see what he signed for.

As am I.
That is going to make or break my feelings on this. But I agree, I think Tejada would have been a nice addition for the right price.

Looks like he's getting $6 million plus incentives
I’m more than OK with him NOT being a Cub at that price.
Agreed.
Good no sign JH. It’s a $1M incentive.

Seems like a good deal
Unfortunately not good enough for the Cubs budget (I assume). Glad he is back in the AL at the very least (for him and the Cubs).

subtraction in the divisions, what was his WAR last year?

Good move for us
Rumors were swirling that Tejada would eventually sign with the Cardinals, but that obviously will not occur now. This can only help us.
Start Sean Marshall!!
Yeah, at least he's out of the NL Central.

This also leaves the Cardinals without any better options for their infield
Besides Pujols, their infield will be putrid next season

....that took me a sec. Haha.

Tejada is set to play 3rd base for the Orioles
He might be older than dirt and a former juicer, but he can still rake. All things considered a nice pickup by the O’s. They have a great 3rd baseman prospect in their system they got from the Dodgers for George Sherrill. Tejada is a nice bridge.
Tejada ripped the crap out of Baltimore when he left. So interesting to see him land back there. I guess desperation for a new contract will cause anybody to eat crow.
Nick Markakis, Adam Jones, Matt Wieters, Brian Roberts, Tejada….that’s quite a lot of firepower.
The Blackhawks and the Stanley Cup in 2010.
The AL East may be growing a 4th head.

As stated, he can still rake
And, he has passion for the game. If he settled for one year I would have liked to see him as a Cub for one year. You can debate if he was still an everyday SS, but he has some nice offensive tradeoffs. And, he could do some DH in the interleague games. Let Blanco back-up, and move Theriot to 2nd where his arm is less of an issue.
well, he did go to a team we have done some trading with in the past few seasons
who knows what happens come the trade deadline

that would give the cubs
the most offensively retarded second base then

Tejada can't play shortstop anymore
Cubs are already defensively challenged in too many spots to put Tejada out there at SS.
The Blackhawks and the Stanley Cup in 2010.
Where exactly are the Cubs defensively challenge?
Aramis has turned into a good 3b. DLee is a gold glover at 1b. Fukudome is excellent in RF. Byrd plays a good CF. Baker is average at 2b and so is Geo/Hill.
So that leaves Sori in right and Theriot at SS. Sori has a cannon for an arm, so that makes up for some of his shortcomings (but not all).
Now I’m not advocating that Tejada would be good at SS, but your premise (like always) is flawed.
