Wait, aren’t you supposed to have some sort of quasi-journalistic independence? Does a blogger covering a team have a different code of ethics than a journalist? Or does the fact you’re openly a fan change things? Wait, what am I asking? :)
In all seriousness, it’s actually an interesting question of how you perceive your role. For example, I would be shocked to learn that Paul Sullivan is Facebook friends with a Cubs player, and yet I actually rely on you for game stories before Paul — you’re sort of my first-line beat reporter, I guess. But obviously it’s much less shocking (if at all) to learn you are facebook friends with a player, even any journalist will tell you that type of thing will color (consciously or not) how you cover a subject
To be clear, I’m not criticizing at all, just throwing out the question — perhaps would be an interesting off-season topic for you to post about.

I'm always naturally skeptical...

Randy, I just hope you can semi-sustain what you accomplished in 2009
Cubs already have a load of pitching questions without you turning back into a pumpkin. That said, I like your chances for future success. Seem to be cerebral and with an absolute plan when out there on the mound. To go along of course with decent stuff.

Looks like they just watched “300” and went from there. I can’t wait to hear how much Nike paid to get this design. Our graphics intern could have whipped this up in 15 minutes or less. He makes $10.50 an hour. So $2.62-ish. I bet Nike paid more. Any takers?

Even Ozzie Guillen is green with envy.
Who cares if he's a Cubs fan? This is a football forum! He is a PACKER fan as well. So, from now until March, I’m sure he’ll dedicate a lot of his time here. In late March, then we can be enemies during the baseball season. Besides, the Cubs have perhaps the most loyal baseball fanbase in the country. You have to respect that.

Its funny, I went back to see who started this turning of the green and saw a couple comments about it....
but it was our very own Al that said “Turn ’em all green”…..which of coarse is what is happening. Just thought this was interesting in case someone else was wondering about it.
