Anyone going to HOF this year? Do me a favor...

I donated some stuff to the HOF, and if anyone will be there soon, see if it's out on display. I gave them...

  • 2003 Cubs Phantom World Series tickets
  • 2003 Cubs Phantom League Championship tickets
  • Cubs World Series t-shirt 2003

I haven't ever been farther east than Cincy in my life and I always wondered if they put that stuff out or have it in some back room somewhere.

If there is a big Cub contingent going for Andre in July, could one of you do a scavenger hunt?

Congratulations Andre!

Like a lot of museums...

… probably the majority of their memorabilia is in storage at any one time; they rotate it as they make up new exhibits.

I was there in the summer of 2008 — can’t recall seeing any of those things then, but that doesn’t mean they weren’t on display.

Besides being a good person...

…is there any other reason to donate these sort of things?

Somewhere in the HOF there is a sticker that says "Donated by -- ME"

That’s why I did it.

Afterwards I got this and this

and they are both hanging on the wall at home.

But, maybe I’m a good person, too.

how did you donate them

did you call and talk to someone, was there an ad somewhere you saw looking for those items, etc?

Al might holler at me because I posted this before...

but I couldn’t find it in the BCB archives. Maybe it disappeared when SBNation took over.

Anyway – I read Cubs Nation and in it, Mary, a researcher at the HOF, says that one of the things she wishes the HOF had was a set of 2003 Cubs World Series Tickets.

So I called her up and it turns out she is a huge Cub fan. And she also wanted my tickets for the HOF. My tickets were in the mail to New York the next day.

And I forgot something: for my donation, I think I got a lifetime membership to the HOF. We moved and I can’t find the thing.

Not sure why you can't find that in the archive.

But anyway, I’m sure if you wrote the HoF, they’d send you a replacement card.

I'm going there. I'll see if it's there.

Actually I am confused

Why would you have PHANTOM League Championship tickets for 2003. Did I imagine going to the games ?

Maybe he meant 2004.

You are correct

One too many Phantoms – only the WS were Phantoms.

And my wife says that the Membership card is in the basement somewhere.

Big Help.
