OK, so Al didn't ask me to do this, but ballhawk's post about the 2010 "It's Happening" contest reminded me of something I had been thinking about.
Over the years, Al has gradually added people to the volunteer "staff" of BCB. Mike's cartoons, Josh's minor league updates, David's photos, and most recently Shawn's statistical analysis.
What other "departments" would enhance BCB?
My suggestions are:
1. Cubs Biz: the business side of the team, from the Triangle Building to the hiring of new front office staff, from ticket prices to broadcast contracts
2. Games Master: generate and tally multiple games
throughout the year; free agent signing predictions; figure out the photo, predict the standings, etc. (but not fantasy leagues)
3. Chicago and Wrigley Guide: write occasional posts about the best way to enjoy a Cubs game, especially for those coming from out of town, update the guide that appears on the right sidebar
4. Game chat czar: monitor (not moderate) game chats and note when things get out of hand. Alert Al of anyone abusing an account.
What are your ideas? What do you think of these?
