Link goes to Yahoo! sports listing of all 2009 pitchers. The Cubs have some decent pitching prospects, with Andrew Cashner and Jay Jackson the highest rated, but with young major-leaguers like Marshall and Wells or bullpen depth like Caridad or Parker also in the system. If Jim Hendry were to deal for one starting pitcher, a number 2 or 3 level guy, who do you think would be available, and what would it take to get them? This might be now, during spring training, or mid-season. To be clear, I'm not advocating the Cubs make such a trade. But acquiring starting pitchers in trades is hard. I'm interested in everyone's thoughts about whether it is even possible this season, especially with the apparent salary constraints.
