Of course, the team can’t fire him because they’d be eating too much of his contract. Speaking of, any team interested taking Kosuke for four million? The Cubs will gladly eat the other 10. No biggie.

…but you would have thought a WS win would have accelerated his value quite a bit.

I know he is still young, but this just seemed low for NY.

This is proof that things have changed with the Yankees

If George was still alive, Girardi might come back in 2011, but there’d be a lot of saber-rattling in the press. Statements like “I’m very disappointed in the fact that we could not get to the World Series this year.” The firing of Dave Eiland as pitching coach was a warning shot to Girardi IMHO. If the Yankees get off to a slow start next year or struggle, he could be gone.
