Mixed Feelings
I am really glad to hear that the Cubs are making the effort to get him extra at bats for development, but I hope that he can hang at 3rd long term. His value really takes a hit if he has to go to 1st or the OF.
All I want is for him
is to hit the hell out of the ball and be a decent/average corner infielder. 2011 is huge for Vitters.
Agreed
It only matters where he plays if he starts to hit. I understand he’s young, still. But, his clock is ticking. We all know the Cubs have had a long famine when it comes to homegrown talent. We got an appetizer platter this year with Colvin, Cashner and Castro, but we need to get to the main course.
Is it my imagination,
or has he been injured every season?
It seems like he has suffered numerous hand injuries. It would be interesting to see how much progress he could make with a 500 AB season in 2011.

Don't worry about Vitters....
he will get super buff with Colvin and will be indestructible to almost everything, besides broken bats to the chest.

Versatility is everything these days
It improves your value as a player in so many ways. If I was Vitters, I’d take every chance I got to learn a new position, especially now in the AFL where it doesn’t count for much.
