They put this in for the Phillies prospect Dominic Brown, but it could apply to the Cubs if they decide to keep Fukudome. I've posted as a Fukudome supporter before, as I like his patience, occasional power and defense. I understand the disappointment he's delivered on fulfilling our expectations, but if you're going to trade him and eat approximately half the salary, I just don't see getting anyone more useful in return. I think he'd have way more value at the trade deadline if we're not in it.
My favorite here is probably Kearns, although Diaz or Rivera could be interesting. Jones would certainly be interesting too but as the article notes he'll probably get a chance at 450 AB's and several million of guaranteed $.
