Season Ticket Wait List

I've moved up over 2600 places in less than two months. Is this because of expanding the number of seats available or people giving theirs up or a combination of both?

I don't know about the two months part, but in the last two years I've moved up 2800 spots.

I’d hazard a guess as to say that it’s a combination of both but mostly because of expanding the number of seats available. I say that with the assumption that this year’s cancellations have NOT been factored in yet.

Not sure what the renewal deadline is this offseason, but it could be very interesting to see how much further we move up come January/February 2011.

Renewel deadline is this Monday.

A month or so earlier than in the past.

Right.

I suspect the Cubs will go through a huge chunk of the list this offseason.

And I believe ballhawk is correct — this year’s cancellations (however many there are) have not yet been factored in because the deadline for saying you’re coming back is tomorrow.

And even after that, it’s possible that some people who say they’re coming back by November 1, may decide by the January 9 payment deadline that they don’t want to return.

I just remembered this!

Season ticket renewal form is due today. I faxed and emailed mine in this morning.

You did both?

I just faxed mine last week. Why did you do both?

Just paranoid

I was going to email, then I realized that I needed to send in the form. So I faxed it, then scanned and emailed it because I had the email already started.

And I was just multi-tasking on a conference call.

I emailed on Friday

They confirmed today.

What doe you plan to do with season tickets?

You’re not going to leave the street are you?

My bet is

The Cubs just got around to updating the season ticket holder waiting list from last year!

Do the cubs send out anything to people on the waiting list? Could they remove people on the list based on bad/non-existent email addresses?

Could they remove people on the list based on bad/non-existent email addresses?

Probably. If they have no way of contacting someone due to old contact info, they’d probably just move on to the next person on the list.

I suppose I should have done that earlier, but I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to find that number is below 100 K in 8 months…

by Shanghai Badger on Nov 1, 2010 10:44 AM CDT reply actions

Agreed.

My guess is that maybe as many as half the people on the list are either not serious buyers, or have outdated contact info.

You really think there will be that big of a jump?

What do you think the estimated number would be? I figured I’d ask just for kicks because I honestly have no idea. I hope there is a huge jump because I’m 103,007 and am just hoping to get them sometime during my life!

I'm just guessing.

But that’s how I see it.

well considering

in spring 2008 it was around 110,000 thats not too bad…considering from Oct 2006 to then it jumped from 35,000 to 110,000

by hansman1982 on Nov 1, 2010 11:21 AM CDT up reply actions

That tells us...

… relatively few people have signed up in the last 2.5 years.

Funny....I just signed up with a different email address just to see what the number was.

When I signed up over a year ago it was at about 105,000 which means that only 11,000 have signed up in over a year. I would have thought it would have been more.

Now — how many people do you think have done this? I doubt you’re the only one.

That was my original reason.

I signed up just to report the number for you here. I decided to stay on because now I really want them. I’m also under the delusion that by the time they call me, I may live close enough for season tickets to make sense.

we talked about that a while ago when I asked the same question

about if there were multiple people with more than one entry, and i would bet that some have added their new born children in some cases to the list as well

They seem to be moving people up

I’ve jumped about 2700 places since I last checked about a month ago (I’m somewhere in the 7300s). Depending on non-renewals and non-payments, it’s possible I’ll get a call this year. I sure hope so.

I'm around 1600

and I fully expect to be contacted. I never would have imagined in 2008 that I would be contacted in late 2010 for season tickets.

do you recall when you signed up?

WooHoo

I just checked, and I’m now 74,472 on the list.

I signed up the first year and my number came up last year. Now, I’m trying to move around for better seats at the same price point.

When do the invoices usually go out?

by Curt Myers on Nov 2, 2010 1:13 PM CDT reply actions

Existing STH already have invoices.

If you don’t have one yet, contact your ticket rep.

Al, are you still sticking

with your 25% STH cancellation? I said it would be closer to 5-10%.

Based on the sales of convention passes today...

… yes.

Three years ago, convention passes sold out in 20 minutes.

Today, it’s two hours into the sale and they still have plenty left.

Convention is still wide open

Your 25% figure may be spot on. If so, they might crack into the 10,000s on the wait list.
