Undercover boss tonight
Tonight is the episode of undercover boss with Todd Ricketts. The football game just ended so it should start around 9:05 Central. Didn't want anyone to miss it if they wanted to see it....

They are showing reruns of Undeclared on IFC
but I just have to see the Toddster. I usually hate reality shows, and even worse if they’re thinly-veiled PR stunts, but I have to see how the Cubs manage to embarrass themselves off the field once again.

Todd looked more lively than Tom....
I got the feeling that despite the excuse that Tom was more well known, there was no way Tom was going to do that. I mean really Tom and Todd look very much alike….
It would have been fun to hear one employee bitching about having their trailer taken away so they could pay Soriano to jog down to first base on a grounder. But I assume the Cubs have final say on what gets broadcast.
My guess is he didn’t want try Hendry’s job. it would be too hard getting out from all the damage that has already been done!
i liked the gestures
to some, like the kid getting swim lessons, offering one a paid internship in marketing (lucky SOB) and paying for the others classes, but i wonder if those were done as much to be kind and considerate as they were for PR since on tv. Either way, it was enjoyable and i am jealous, I want to raise the W flag once, that had to be the highlight for him

Wrigster A: Theriot
That was the feel I got too....
When the guy said their trailer was taken away because of the budget, the word CHEAP went through my head once again.
I mean, it was well done.
But none of what “changes” that are made are going to make the actual CUBS better.
But it’s nice to see that they are trying to make life for the workers better.
Counting the days until 4/1/11...
The show is about the employees
and making things better for them. The show was never advertised as making the CUBS better.
A lovely story:
One day, long, long ago, there lived a woman who didn't whine, nag or bitch. That would be me....
But that was a long time ago and it was just that one day.
The end
Dang football game...
Screwed up my dvr royally. Any chance of a re-air since I didn’t get to see a second of it?
Hey Great game. Packers ROCK
Oh you mean why the show ran late. See I was thinking that I was watching the Packers so I only saw bits of the silly show. The whole show is fake to me anyway. How are you really going to find out anything if everyone knows there is a camera on?

Did you not hear them say
the reason for the cameras when the show started?
A lovely story:
One day, long, long ago, there lived a woman who didn't whine, nag or bitch. That would be me....
But that was a long time ago and it was just that one day.
The end
I know the standard reason they give
The point is everyone knows a camera is on, they are not going to act the same as they would without one. I find this especially true of some of snippets I have seen of some companies with less than stellar reputations ( Waste Management). Somehow there is never an employee saying how the company policy is to screw them out of overtime, not cover their medical, or that the new “employee” is A hole who has no idea how to work and should never set foot in the building again. At most you get is “sorry you need to try something else”

Good show
I liked the “insiders” look behind the scenes and it does give me some appreciation for what those people do. There is more to the Cubs than just the guys on the field (though I know many will disagree with that). I like the fact that he took the time to say thank you to the guy who cleaned the bathrooms. Maybe we all ought to do that more often.
I think I speak for everyone here when I say, "Wait, what the hell are you talking about?"
Scary!
Wonder how much the Brady Bunch paid the producers to feature them on this show? If this was some feeble attempt to show them in a good light, they’ve failed. These people have the personalities of zombies. I have loved this team for over 45 years, but I honestly don’t know whose worse, Zell or the The Brady Bunch. Brother Todd can’t clean a bathroom, sell a hot dog, park a car or throw sand on the infield, it’s no wonder Hendry is still wandering around the front office looking for his roladex! Let’s see they’ve dumped almost a million bucks into a crazy woman’s campaign for senate, who lost, ran one of the most beloved Cubs out of the organization and Hendry is still GM. Look, I love this organization, but seeing the Brady Bunch sitting around a table speaking in a monotone, while Todd can’t even sell a few hot dogs at a baseball game, then lie straight face about it, is not encourging to a Cub fan. Not to mention all theses emails I’m getting from all my Sox buddies, who also just saw it, and aren’t as kind as I am.
"Don't shed any tears. You think about this: Here I am, the grandson of a slave. And here the whole world was excited about whether I was going into the Hall of Fame or not. We've come a long ways." BUCK O'NEIL
Wow... and I thought I was cynical.
I’ll grant you, the hot dog thing was pretty pathetic. However, if the Ricketts had “paid” to get this one, if they had wanted it just to be a huge PR campaign, don’t you think they might have had that part edited out?
The Ricketts aren’t saints, but to compare them to the human carcinogen that is Sam Zell is a litte bit over the top. Plus, they didn’t run Sandberg out of the organization – they chose not to hire him. It is his choice to move on. The manager job was not his divine right and I really wish people would stop acting as if it were.
Finally, your “Sox buddies” are tools. But that goes without saying.
I think I speak for everyone here when I say, "Wait, what the hell are you talking about?"
Zell is a horrible man, but he never bothered the Cubs
Probably as he knew he was selling them he gave them a pretty open checkbook. Zell is the most hands off owner the Cubs team ever had. I feel unclean for coming to the defense of Zell, but he really did nothing except pay bills.

The $600k campaign money was Joe's
And do you realize how little $600k is to a billionaire? That’s like the average person donating a penny.
Joe didn’t have to release his name either. He could have been like all these other shady mega-donors and stayed hidden, but he disclosed his name because he believes in transparency. Agree or disagree with his politics, you have to give him credit for that.
"It's important in life to not give a shit. It can help you a lot." - George Carlin
Also...
… despite what you have read on certain websites, Joe Ricketts is not part of the Cubs ownership group; the money donated to the political campaign in question has NOTHING to do with the Cubs.
Another myth shattered.

The only thing I am going to say
Is why do people think they are so clever? The Brady Bunch?!?— really are you serious what a lame attempt at a joke. You play the role of a nagging mother in law who complains all the time much better than a comedian.
