I feel like crying... I loved the man.
If the Cubs still have a chance, no matter how small, it’s still Go Cubs, damn the math and pass the KoolAid.
Still crying...

Just got woken up
Husband just woke me up. I’m in shock.
Formerly known as cubstoseriesby100. Thanks Al for letting me change my outdated screenname.
Few people went through adversity with a better attitude
All the health issues, plus the personal tragedies that he faced when he was younger and he always seemed to be positive.
Greatest man to put on the uniform
He will be sorely missed, Cubs games will never be the same
I am at a loss for words right now.
I truly love and admire him. May he find peace. My thoughts and prayers go out his family and all of the lives he touched.
We're out of glue.
This just makes me sick...
We’ll miss you Ron. You were a hell of a ballplayer, but an even better man. RIP.

Woke up watching Mike & Mike and heard the news
RIP Ronnie. I loved you as a Cub and as a man. You truly bled Cubbie Blue. I will miss you.

RIP Ronnie
Cubs games just won’t be the same without Ron! What a great ambassador for the sport of baseball. So grateful I had the chance to meet him some years back – great man! You will be missed Ron!

Terrible news
I had not heard any news yesterday but I hadn’t read anything that he was in a coma until I read the news a few minutes ago. Even though you knew this day was coming reasonably soon with all of his health challenges, it was still a shock.
It's a simple question, Doctor: would you eat the moon if it were made of ribs??
Ron Santo, a cubs legend.
Radio broadcasts will never be the same without is unending enthusiasm. While some here disliked the job he did, he truly was the ultimate Cubs fan and for that he will be missed nearly.
As for the hall of fame, it is quite a shame that the process to get in is corrupt and run by idiots. Although he still needs to be inducted, nevertheless, it barely matters now as he will never know.
I’m waiting for Pat Hughes to come on WGN or make a statement soon…that was possibly one of the greatest broadcast combos of all time.
Just heard it on Dwyer and Michaels
I am still completely shocked. Everytime I heard the guy’s voice he put a smile on my face. I am glad I got to meet him on June 17 of this year, it was brief, but it was priceless. A memory that has just skyrocketed to the top of my “priceless memories library”. It is the saddest day since Harry Caray’s passing. Somewhere up above, Ron is clicking his heels to a Cubs win.
We love you Ron Santo. You were the heart and soul of the entire Cubs family. You are a legend to us and for that, your spirit will never die here. Rest in Peace Ron Santo.
Jack Brickhouse: "Hey! Hey!"
Harry Caray: "Holy Cow!"
Vince Lloyd: "The Chicago Cubs are on the Air!"
Len Casper: "Oh Baby!"
Bob Brenly: "Give it to a Kid!"
Ron Santo: "YES!", "All Right!, let's do it!", "Oh No!", "Oh jeez come on!" AND...
"This Is The Year!"

I woke up to this sad news.
My thoughts are on the front page.

Ronnie led by example
Even after Ron Santo hung up the spikes he helped who he could . He was just a plain guy after all . He could relate to the fans and neighbors but his love of the Cubs was deep .RIP Ronnie .
