More Information On Ron Santo Visitation And Funeral
Here's more information on the upcoming visitation and funeral services for Ron Santo, to be held this Thursday and Friday. The Cubs have announced that if you can't attend the service at Holy Name Cathedral, you are invited to view the funeral procession outside Wrigley Field at Noon Central time on Friday.
There will be a public visitation at Holy Name Cathedral from 4 to 11 pm CST on Thursday, December 9. Because the Cathedral must close its doors by midnight, they are asking that you be in line by 11 p.m. to ensure that you'll be allowed in. The line will begin on State Street and head north toward Chicago Avenue. You'll enter the church through the main State Street entrance and exit through the Superior Street side of the Cathedral.
Friday’s funeral service will commence at 10 a.m. and will include eulogies by Cubs chairman Tom Ricketts, WGN Radio’s Pat Hughes and MLB Commissioner Bud Selig. WGN-TV, WGN Radio and the Associated Press will serve as pool video, sound and still photographs for media outlets.
Following the services at Holy Name Cathedral on Friday, the funeral procession will embark on a route towards Wrigley Field. The procession will leave Holy Name Cathedral and drive north on State Street, east on Chicago Avenue, south on Michigan Avenue, turn around in front of Wrigley Building before pausing in front of WGN Radio (Tribune Tower), north on Michigan Avenue to inner Lake Shore Drive, west on Division Street, north on LaSalle Drive, north on Clark Street, north on Sheffield Avenue, west on Addison Street followed by a lap around Wrigley, a final visit from the Old Third Baseman to his baseball home for over 50 years.

Is there any information about internment?

Interment, I think you mean.
Have not read nor heard any info about that yet. If/when I get any info, I’ll post it.

Do you have a better picture?
He looks like the photographer walked in while he was stealing Pat’s candy bar.
Yeah, I know there should be an apostrophe in "Vails," but punctuation wasn't an option when I signed up.

I posted this elsewhere
I saw elsewhere Quade will be there. I wonder if current players will be there. It would really surprise me if Dempster isn’t there. Possibly Zambrano unless he’s visiting family in Venezuela.. Of more recent not here anymore players it would surprise me if Wood isn’t there. Although if he signs with the Sox Ron may come back to smack him :).
I’m also thinking Brenly and Kasper and Hendry will be there,

Don't know about Brenly.
I know Len Kasper lives year round in the Chicago area, but I don’t know if Bob does.

I think Brenly lives in Arizona in the offseason.

I'd think he would, too.
The funeral will be televised on WGN, but apparently NOT on the national feed.

Really?
Crap. Will it be on the web anywhere?

Holy Name Cathedral
Holy Name Cathedral is a beautiful cathedral. Used to attend mass there when I lived downtown. Many of you will remember it from Harry’s funeral.
I also thought I read Wayne Messmer will sing.

Sox and Cardinals fans
Can I say it’s been nice to see Sox and Cardinals fans visit us here to post nice things as well as elsewhere on the net?
As I’m sure we would be doing if it was someone so closely affilitated with their teams.

Agreed.
It shows that not only we Cubs Fans lost an icon, but MLB did as well. Thank You one and all for your compassion, it’s helpful in a tough time.
I didn't understand the "white-collar Cub fans", "blue-collar Sox fans" until much later in life. Harry Smith~ "For Cubs Fans Only".
Still makes me so sad
