Cubs Theme Songs

ok, so we have been figuring out the proper books for various players, and that has been a blast.  But it got me to thinking, which songs would match various players?

Star-divide

There are of course easy ones of course, such as:

 Wild Thing - Mitch Williams

Money For Nothing and the Chicks For Free - Mark Prior

I Think I'm Alone Now - Ryan Freel

Dont Come Around Here No More - Milton Bradley

Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go - Lou Pineilla

and away we go

Some

First I always listen to Here Comes the Sun on the morning of opening day two lines in the song fit so perfectly – It’s been a long long lonely winter and the other line the smiles returning to their faces.

A song that tells the story of a great season “These Are the Days” by Van Morrison. That was used in one of the 2 videos in 1989. The most perfect line being “The fires of spring are kindling bright”

IF we were to win the pennant a great song would be “Here’s to the WInners” by Frank Sinatra because of the line “Here’s to the glory still to be”

ANd if you listen to the words of We are the Champions the day we win it all it is even more perfect. “I’ve paid my dues, time after time. I’ve done my sentence but commited no crime” could be the fans singing

For some reason Canadian Idiot by Weird Al always makes me think of Ryan Dempster.

When MAddux won his 300th I made a video to LIke A Rock that a lot of people liked.

Of course sorry Texas Longhorn fans but I always associate The Eyes of Texas with Kerry Wood.

There is a song called “Mr. Lee Mr. Lee”

I heard people say When You Wish Upon a Star is a great song for the Cubs but I prefer “A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes”

The song “Angel” by Sarah MCLaughlin seems haunting when played at the end of a playoff series loss.

Holding out for A Hero maybe for Starlin Castro or the prospect that puts us over the top. I may want to keep away from that because i made a video of Jay Cutler’s arrival to that song and well we know how that’s turned out so far.

Me and You A Two Man Crew from Snoopy Come home for Lee & Ramirez when they’re both hot.

I always thought I’m too Sexy was a good song for Grace.

And I love the man but Weird Al’s White and Nerdy might fit Greg Maddux.
