The Envelope Please....the first ever Hannies (BCB Awards)

Welcome one and all to the first ever BCB Award Ceremony.  Please pull up a seat, get comfortable and enjoy. 

The first category, the WTF Award.  This award is for the poster who is least likely to be understood. 

Is anyone truly surprised that ERICHANNA won this award?  Well, lets not stand pat, and keep ERICHANNA up here to get his second award, as he also takes home the award for Legendary Thread.

ERICHANNA wherever you are, we wish you well, and hope in 2010 you return to defend your title.

Moving on, the next category we wish to present the award for is for Mr or Ms Grumpypants.  This is the award for the poster who is always a curmudgeon.  Not much of a surprise, as BLou ran away.  He guess hack posted his way into the kool aid drinkers hearts just enough. 

BLou congrats, continue your ways.  You are insightful, know baseball, but no one can guess hack post like you.

BLou don't sit down just yet, as you have one more award to take home.  You narrowed out Worf for the Hot Head Award.  You have been voted most likely to go boom.  Worf, I guess having Tupac Andre Santo DeRosa Theriot Fontenot Neifi Macias Worfington calmed you down just enough to lose a close one. 

Congrats to BLou on his two BCB Awards. 

Now for those who are not aware, there are other team blogs within the SBNation.  The ones most recommended and visited by BCBers didn't surprise much.

Now this may come as a surprise, but we here at BCB do not always see eye to eye.  The Best BCB Thread Fight went to

Not much of a surprise, since Bradley was a fight before he put on his Cubs hat, and was a fight to get rid of.  Best of Luck Bradley.  You might not have won over the city of Chicago but you won an award here.

Moving on, we don't always get along sure, but we love to have a good laugh.  People posting can take the sarcasm in a wrong way.  Nonetheless, we are about having fun and Santoswoodenlegs, SWL himself won the following awards.  Class clown - most likely to crack wise and Most snarkiest.  Kinda ironic, guess not everyone enjoys the cracking wisely.

Whoa, hold it right there SWL, you are the first triple crown winner of the BCB Awards, as you also take home the Thread derailer/hijacker Award for being  most likely to go off subject

Keep up the good work SWL. 

But sadly SWL, you ran out of steam, as ballhawk took the award for Wit, with his ability to always be quick with a punch line.

But as funny as both ballhawk and SWL have been, providing some great laughs, when it comes to always saying something nice, there was only one Ms. Happypants

Now we all can complain sometimes about Hendry, but he always makes moves.  We may not like the move made, but there always is a reason he pulls the trigger on it.  This years GETI TDO NEJIM Award, for the BCB favorite trade or signing went to moving Bradley to the Mariners.

Now did that actually surprise anyone?  Bradley was the most fought about topic, so it only is fitting Hendry set himself up for this award with the trade. 

But sadly Hendry doesn't always read BCB to get his trade ideas.  If he did there were two posters we agree are sensible in their trade ideas.  Congrats to Al, as he edged out DGU for the ERICHANNAAWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At times people can seem snarky, other times they seem wordy.  Not everyone can be a Wordmeister and post in an eloquent manner.  Congrats to those nominated, but only one could win.  Congrats to Josh77

I for one wish to thank Josh77 for his minor league posts, since I truly don't follow the minors real close, and he does a great job of keeping us all up to date.

One of the biggest draws to BCB for many, is how much information is available, and I know that every BCBer takes great pride in the information compiled by each of us to make BCB what it is.  The person voted most informative was Al. 

Congrats Al on a job well done.

At this time, I wish to make a special presentation..  On behalf of the BCB Community, I wish to present a very special set of awards.  These awards were not on the initial ballot, nor were up for a vote.  We all have been thru hardships in our lives, and it's always a great feeling to have a community to look to for a shoulder.  There were a few posts in the past few months that really hit home for many of us. 

Before I present the awards, I wish to make a statement.  This was done with no prejudice to anyone who has been thru a troubling time.  If anyone feels slighted in any manner, I respectfully say sorry, and offer a shoulder, hand shake, and anything else to continue a happy community.

This is one award being presented to multiple people.

The Ernie Banks Never Let Them See You Frown Award

I am presenting this award to three strong women, who are deserving of such an award. 

My Aunt Linda, being a Cub fan all her life, and currently fighting thru Breast Cancer.  I did not make a full post about her, but this is my award ceremony, so I can give her one if I want to (sticks out tongue, and moons audience).  A little history of my Aunt, she is the CEO of an all girls ice hockey league that she was an initial founder of when my two cousins wanted to play as preteen girls.  She is an amazing woman, and I wish her well always. 

Next I wish to award Molly, the niece of bluekoolaide for her fight with leukemia.  No child deserves to go thru what she is, and it is because of strong young ladies like her that makes us all realize how lucky we are.  I asked Molly by smoke signal what it means to receive this award, and I am still waiting on her reply.  Maybe bluekoolaide can update on how she is.

Now last, but not least, the mother of cubsnational.  Last we heard she was doing well, all things considered.  I am hoping for an update from cubsnational on her well being.  I did send a messenger bird her way, and again am waiting the response.  Cubsnational can update on how she is.

I wish to say thanks to everyone who participated, and congrats to all the winners.  I look forward to baseball starting up, and to the 2010 nominees.  Post often, and who knows, you could dethrone one of this years winners.
