Moving on, the next category we wish to present the award for is for Mr or Ms Grumpypants. This is the award for the poster who is always a curmudgeon. Not much of a surprise, as BLou ran away. He guess hack posted his way into the kool aid drinkers hearts just enough.

BLou don't sit down just yet, as you have one more award to take home. You narrowed out Worf for the Hot Head Award. You have been voted most likely to go boom. Worf, I guess having Tupac Andre Santo DeRosa Theriot Fontenot Neifi Macias Worfington calmed you down just enough to lose a close one.

Moving on, we don't always get along sure, but we love to have a good laugh. People posting can take the sarcasm in a wrong way. Nonetheless, we are about having fun and Santoswoodenlegs, SWL himself won the following awards. Class clown - most likely to crack wise and Most snarkiest. Now we all can complain sometimes about Hendry, but he always makes moves. We may not like the move made, but there always is a reason he pulls the trigger on it. This years GETI TDO NEJIM Award, for the BCB favorite trade or signing went to moving Bradley to the Mariners.

But sadly Hendry doesn't always read BCB to get his trade ideas. If he did there were two posters we agree are sensible in their trade ideas. Congrats to Al, as he edged out DGU for the ERICHANNAAWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I for one wish to thank Josh77 for his minor league posts, since I truly don't follow the minors real close, and he does a great job of keeping us all up to date.
One of the biggest draws to BCB for many, is how much information is available, and I know that every BCBer takes great pride in the information compiled by each of us to make BCB what it is. The person voted most informative was Al.

Congrats Al on a job well done.
At this time, I wish to make a special presentation.. On behalf of the BCB Community, I wish to present a very special set of awards. These awards were not on the initial ballot, nor were up for a vote. We all have been thru hardships in our lives, and it's always a great feeling to have a community to look to for a shoulder. There were a few posts in the past few months that really hit home for many of us.
Before I present the awards, I wish to make a statement. This was done with no prejudice to anyone who has been thru a troubling time. If anyone feels slighted in any manner, I respectfully say sorry, and offer a shoulder, hand shake, and anything else to continue a happy community.
This is one award being presented to multiple people.
The Ernie Banks Never Let Them See You Frown Award
I am presenting this award to three strong women, who are deserving of such an award.
My Aunt Linda, being a Cub fan all her life, and currently fighting thru Breast Cancer. I did not make a full post about her, but this is my award ceremony, so I can give her one if I want to (sticks out tongue, and moons audience). A little history of my Aunt, she is the CEO of an all girls ice hockey league that she was an initial founder of when my two cousins wanted to play as preteen girls. She is an amazing woman, and I wish her well always.
Next I wish to award Molly, the niece of bluekoolaide for her fight with leukemia. No child deserves to go thru what she is, and it is because of strong young ladies like her that makes us all realize how lucky we are. I asked Molly by smoke signal what it means to receive this award, and I am still waiting on her reply. Maybe bluekoolaide can update on how she is.
Now last, but not least, the mother of cubsnational. Last we heard she was doing well, all things considered. I am hoping for an update from cubsnational on her well being. I did send a messenger bird her way, and again am waiting the response. Cubsnational can update on how she is.
I wish to say thanks to everyone who participated, and congrats to all the winners. I look forward to baseball starting up, and to the 2010 nominees. Post often, and who knows, you could dethrone one of this years winners.
Do I need to add 75 Words here to meet the post work count, or was this long enough without doing so?
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation or Al Yellon, managing editor (unless it's a FanPost posted by Al). FanPost opinions are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

You did fine, Tim.
I was wondering when this post would appear, seeing as voting closed yesterday.
Again, nicely done on the post. I don’t see anything wrong even if the indents aren’t exactly correct.
Who cares if he's a Cubs fan? This is a football forum! He is a PACKER fan as well. So, from now until March, I’m sure he’ll dedicate a lot of his time here. In late March, then we can be enemies during the baseball season. Besides, the Cubs have perhaps the most loyal baseball fanbase in the country. You have to respect that.

i figured out why they dont line up
i first copied into Excel the totals, then cleaned it and copied them into Word to type around (and that took a while to type this all out). Since the excel cells are still in the word doc, i have to size them all to be the same there so they center equally, which i am not going to worry about lol.

I realize I should have nominated a thread for inclusion in the Legendary category
But I totally brain-farted when the noms were being collected and forgot about the infamous Cat Thread. It wouldn’t have beaten ERICHANNA, but it probably could have given the Porno Thread a run for its money.
MB Suspended could’ve also been a contender. I will try to do better next year.

How to torque off a Cubs fan (without really trying)
I forgot all about this post in THIS IS NOT A PARODY POST
i run a successful Cubs blog that is part of a larger sports blog network. Recently, I have noticed many of my posters making duplicate posts on topics already covered, or posting poorly written rambling rants about their ledge jumping abilities, or (horrors!) cutting and pasting the badly written posts into parodies repeatedly, beating a dead joke like some sort of Family Guy episode. How can I attract a better class of posters, and encourage my regulars to improve their posting habits? – A.Y., Chicago
Well, A.Y., I would start by reminding your users of the standards you have for posts on your site via a front page post. The more conscientious of them will change their behavior simply because you ask them to. Once you have thinned the herd a bit, you should find that the posters will self-police many of the questionable posts. I would also encourage keeping a few wise-asses around, at least one of whom should be skilled with Photoshop, in case of trouble; an occasional bone should be allowed to slip through so they don’t turn their withering gazes upon well-meaning but rookie posters in the farm system. If you have an individual who refuses to cooperate, try trading them to Milwaukee; I hear they’re hard up for content. (Banning may also be effective, though devious users won’t let that stop them, will they, Mike?) Hope this helps!

Who cares if he's a Cubs fan? This is a football forum! He is a PACKER fan as well. So, from now until March, I’m sure he’ll dedicate a lot of his time here. Per Curiam
SUPREME COURT OF BCB
dtpollitt n SWL, PETITIONERS v.
Cubbie-Tim, et al.
ON WRIT OF CERTIORARI TO THE SBNATION SUPREME COURT
[February 15, 2010]
Per Curiam.
On February 14, 2010 the BCB Elections Canvassing Commission certified the results of the election and declared ERICHANNA: CUBSNEEDSTOMAKEATRADE, henceforth known as “EH:CNTMAT”, the winner of the BCB Best Thread Award. This is a formal complaint contesting the certification. SBN-BCB. Stat. §124.188 (2006). We seek relief pursuant to §124.188(3)©, which provides that "®eceipt of a number of illegal votes or rejection of a number of legal votes sufficient to change or place in doubt the result of the election, or if we think everyone is wrong" shall be grounds for a contest.
The petition presents the following questions: (a)whether the voters were sufficiently aware of the substance of the threads on which they were voting. (2)why no direct link to our thread was made available on the ballot. (d)what the hell is wrong with you people that picked a thread as useless and unimaginative as the EH:CNTMAT over the majesty of OWLS OF BRADLEY. In short, we demand a runoff.

sadly your request is being rejected by my atty
Dear dtpollitt n SWL:
We appreciate you continued support of the HANIES and concern for the manner of which voting was conducted for the award of Best BCB Thread.
Unfortunately we reviewed the various categories for which an award was nominated, voted upon, and awarded based solely on the democratic system agreed to by all BCBers, and we learned that your summons was without just cause. There was not such a category, and the category for which the EH:CNTMAT won was Legendary Thread.
I wish to congratulate you on your nomination for the 2009 Legendary, and the opportunity for the 2010 will always be up for voting as well, if you should choose to make an entry for it.
Very truly yours,
Cubbie-Tims Attorney

Insofar as the award is for "Legendary Thread" and not "Legendary Post"
I’m not sure that the post in question should even qualify – while the post itself was well-written and witty, the thread it inspired was anemic, at best. Lotsa attaboys and no real substance at all.
While I do not claim to have any authority over the nomination of, voting upon, or awarding of any Hannies, I did come up with the idea for the category, so nurrrr :P

On behalf of my Mom, I humbly accept her Ernie Banks Never Let Them See You Frown Award
The blue messenger bird (it appeared to be a parrot of some sort) arrived at her hospital room window but was promptly frozen solid by one of the recent cold snaps before the RN’s could retrieve it. A more fitting tribute for her could not be awarded. Her radiant optimism and wonderfully positive, kindly and enthusiastic spirit embodies all that Mr. Cub is so well known for.
She would send her thanks and love to all who’ve been pulling and praying for her. Her recovery is still slow, but she’s moving Monday to a rehab stint at St. Margaret’s in Hammond .. and some real work. Big decisions on her ability to remain living independently will be made when the stint is winding down.
My mom is tough and strong, but the dialysis surely does weaken her .. and she’ll need a lot of help so I’ll probably be heading back home for a while in mid to late March. I’ll bring the trophy along and she’ll be thrilled to death.

Hoping that Molly and your aunt are also enjoying their honors .. and that they too are keeping their chins up through tough times. Godspeed and God’s grace be theirs.
I think, knowing my Mom, she’d have loved this thread for consideration as among the snarkiest, most visited and classically BCB ones’ of all time .. she was elated to hear that Jim Got It Done ..
