Lou's not a Twitter kind of guy. Here's what he said when someone explained it to him:

'What is Twitter?'' Cubs manager Lou Piniella said when told of the Ozzie Guillen-Twitter account uproar.

When the short-message, public-text concept was explained to him, Piniella said, ''Ozzie needs more space than that.''

“I’m really not a Facebook or Twitter guy. I’m a prime rib and baked potato.”

Prime Rib & Baked Potato? I have never heard of that site.

Internet sites deliberately misspell things

to get people who type stuff in wrong. I actually used both spellings and got the same place but only put in the 2nd one.
For all I know there was was prymerib.com too.

I hoped I could have Facebook and Prime Rib

Alas, Lou is right that I can’t have it both ways.

Farewell, Facebook!

Anyone hear Lou interviewed on Dave Kaplan's show last night?

He basically admitted that he’s still not completely clear on what Twitter is. And I kind of prefer it that way.

I was kind of hoping he would tweet me

@sweetheart Actually I know about as much about Twitter as Lou. I think if he just gets GPS, that should suffice for his technological needs.

If you do sign up for Twitter...

… you’ll have to use the user name “sweetheart”.

Daver I must agree with you

Something would just be wrong if Lou started twittering

But...

… “Look, what do you want me to do?” fits very easily in 140 characters.

Yeah, he's got more than enough on his mind.

The only other ML manager that I know of on Twitter, aside from Ozzie, is Tampa Bay Rays Joe Maddon.

Ah, HA!

I have one up on the Twitter expert (you). Tony LaRussa started tweeting last fall. Yes, I know there were some fake TLR twitter accounts; this one is apparently legit.

Oh...I knew about that one, too.

I guess I tend to black TLR out of my memory for obvious reasons.
