Should Lou Piniella get a twitter account??

Ozzie-guillen-lou-piniella_medium

Star-divide

Being different from Ken Williams on the south side of town, Cubs general manager Jim Hendry doesn't have anything to worry about when it comes to his manager and Twitter.

When told of the Ozzie Guillen-Twitter account madnes Lou Pinella asked, ''What is Twitter?'' Lou has used the Facebook function on this phone, but now twitter.  When asked if he could twitter,

''No, no, no, no, no,'' he said. ''First of all, I don't know how to Twitter, and second of all I'm not going to learn how to Twitter.

''I'm really not a Facebook or Twitter guy. I'm a prime rib and baked potato.''

I don't know if it would take away from the game, but I wouldn't mind to here what's on Lou's mind after every game.  But then again that's what all the media's for and postgame extras?  He could have a twitter account, and eat his cake...I mean prime rib and baked potato too, right??

Is this a joke?

If you want to know what’s on Lou’s mind after a game, watch the press conference. It’s not like he’s opaque.

But really, is this a serious question?

Hard to tell.

And, FWIW, we already covered this topic here.

Yea it is a serious question

Damen…Really he has postgame extras?? (Sarcasm) Yeah I know this I also said that I know that he has news conferences, postgame extras ect. Who said that all I wanted him to do is talk about the game?? I wouldnt’ mind to hear what else is on his mind…not everyone knows everything about lou’s life outside of baseball.

And maybe Lou wants to keep it that way.

I cannot see him sitting with a phone in his hand tweeting, or on a computer using TweetDeck.

My bad Al..

I didn’t see that you had posted this earlier…

Lou is what the kids...

Call “Old School”. He’s not going to sit in front of a computer “tweeting” about his feelings. And honestly, I guess I can’t see how anyone who’s even remotely followed him would think he would.

by Damen Jackson on Feb 26, 2010 11:22 AM CST up reply actions

Maybe they should just hire a publicist type then,

someone whose job it is to sort of hang around Lou, and tweet various insider nuggets for him all day, make him seem at least a little accessible to the fans.

This person might also be someone who really likes dogs.

I’m just sayin’.

Probably not..

but I can see him with that prime rib!

You could tweet Lou's post-game news conference

It would probably fit in 144 characters. It’s not like he says much there.

Look, what do you want me to do?

33 characters. Plenty of room for more.

Lou twittering is like expecting

Something that I found funny...

I thought Lou’s quote ’’I’m really not a Facebook or Twitter guy. I’m a prime rib and baked potato guy.’’ would have made an excellent tweet.

Lou on Twitter?

Two words: Yeah, right.
That’s my tweet on this subject.

Are you expecting doom and gloom?

This is a largely veteran team. I doubt a losing streak would break these guys.

Twitter? Seriously? Lou?

Twitter is useless. Lou on Twitter is doubly useless.

Just freakin’ wait for his press conferences after the game.

All the Twits out there waiting for a Tweet from Lou, then when it comes with all its 147 characters of pure Louness, leaving the Twits to wait for another Tweet from Lou …. repeat …

Now Ron Santo on Twitter would be pure gold, he would have to have multi-part Tweets and you still would have no clue what he was trying to say.
