A few thoughts that popped in my head watching the Bradley interview
So, normally I just visit the site and am too lazy to even type a one sentence opinion on a post, but watching the Bradley interview today a few things popped in my head. The next thing I know facebook is telling me there is a 420 character limit and I'm at 1253. I am normally too lazy to even post a status update there. Just one northsider's opinion, and once the real games start I'm done paying attention to him until the Cubs/M's series.
Milton Bradley: SCREW YOU! Me and EVERY Cub fan I know or have talked to hates you for many things, including, but not limited to: not knowing how to run the bases, not knowing the number of outs in an inning, leaving the bat on the shoulder when you got a weak hitting guy up next and we needed a run, blaming others and never thinking there's anything wrong with you, appealing your suspension when your bruised ego was keeping you out of the lineup anyway, only hitting meaningless home runs, the fact I've sat everywhere in Wrigley from 2 rows off the field behind the plate to the last row in the left field corner and everywhere in between, including many many trips to the bleachers (even RF when you were playing), and NEVER heard a racist taunt or heckle, the fact I kept having faith in you to turn it around last year and all you ever did was be a complete piece of shit (Lou was right!), your puppet show, I'm sure there are more but the last one I can think of, not paying any of your rent!!!
Notice how many things other than your skin color I listed? God I wish I could find a way for Mr. Bradley to read this. Can't wait to see how he messes up the mariners.
PS if you read this whole rant you probably could use a beer by now

just make sure there's no stamp or address on it
that’ll really drive him crazy… ;-)
Lou Brown: "My kinda team, Charlie, my kinda team..."
I don't work for the Cubs
So there’s no way I could make sure he gets a piece of mail with no stamp or address on it

Well, I couldn't have said it better myself.
I, too, have sat everywhere at Wrigley. Never once heard anything more than the occasional expletive after a blown save or any of the Evil MB instances you mentioned. Just let it go, Milton. We don’t want to have anything to do with you, and neither does Lou or the 2010 Cubs. I would love to see this: I don’t want the Cubs to plunk Evil MB when he comes to the plate at the Spring Training game (if, I should say) or at the series at Safeco in June. I want Milton to get K-ed like he’s never gotten K-ed before, and then our pitchers just turn around and walk away from him like he’s just another player…because you know what? He IS just another player. He doesn’t deserve all the attention that he is craving for. We know that, the Cubs know that. It’s time Milton figures that out.
A-well-a Byrd, Byrd, Byrd, well the Byrd is the word.
I bet he'll be on the DL
Either because he’s really hurt or the M’s make up an injury because they’re sick of him already.

Well, that's four.
Posts, I mean.
The best thing about this situation is that it will end after 2011, no matter what. No team will sign this toxic individual to another contract after this one’s done.

I'm not trying to pay him any attention
But just trying to see some highlights on CSN after a day of work and his mug is the first I see. Kinda hard not to pay attention

I posted this on another thread, but it's worth saying again...
when someone lashes out at our team and our city, it become our problem and is worth discussing and defending ourselves. Believe me, I’ve tried like hell to let this whole thing go, but what he did this time just completely crossed the line.
A-well-a Byrd, Byrd, Byrd, well the Byrd is the word.
Agreed
For one who said he prefers a small market with no pressure he seems to not mind talking about Chicago, therefore getting him national attention

I hope most of you realize that when MB is talking about the city, the team, and the fans
that he is not talking about every single fan or you personally. Most of you and myself have never done anything negative to Bradley beyond maybe booing or cursing him for a SO or a poorly played fly ball. He is, however, talking about a small segment of the Cubs fan base that shouted or wrote racial slurs that were directed at him and his family (something which has been mentioned by previous players of this organization), or the negative atmosphere surrounding a team that has been starved of WS success for over 100 years. A portion of the Cubs fan base engage in excessive drinking and become somewhat militant and have a short leash for players whose performance doesn’t match up to expectations, that is a fact that cannot be disputed.
I’ve read through many of these posts in the Milton Bradley threads. Yeesh, some of you need to get over yourselves, Bradley probably doesn’t give a crap about you, me, or the most of us, its the few malicious fans among us that he is talking about. I think the fact that we have heard nothing from negative about Bradley from Marlon or Rudy speaks volumes.
Milton even said that he thought Chicago is a great city in the interview, FWIW

Rec a thousand times over.
It’s not a secret. The Cubs have some rude obnoxious fans that come into Wrigley. By no means are they the majority, but they make themselves known.(You guys should look at the Mariners blog, they actually think BCB readers are a bunch of drinky racist crazy people)
I’d imagine it would get on some players nerves, especially Bradley.
Bradley is no saint. but he’s not freaking Satin Incarnate. Some of you guys seem to think so.
Oh and for the record, that interview was AWFUL. They egged him in to answers they wanted to hear to blow the situation further out of proportion. It’s all for the ratings.
Derrick Rose. He's Silent But Deadly.

I know one thing he is...
…delusional!!!
"I don't like them fellas that drive in two runs but let in three" Casey Stengel
Once again, MB is the victim.
They egged him into answers they wanted to hear
When will poor Milton get a break? MagicBlue – if he is talking about a small segment of the fans, has he ever said that?
I think the fact that we have heard nothing from negative about Bradley from Marlon or Rudy speaks volumes.
Yes, it speaks volumes about them taking the high road, something MB couldn’t find with gps. The comments from the locker room when he was suspended and traded speak volumes to me.
Some people say the glass is half empty, some say half full. I say, are you going to drink that?

It's Not Just the Cubs
Every team, no matter where you go will have some racist idiot(s) in the stands. I think he would have run into the same problems in Bridgeport, St. Louis, New York, Boston or any large market team.
Denying racism exists in Wrigley is basically living under the assumption that Wrigley is located on another planet, where racism doesn’t exist. Stupid people are everywhere and unfortunately, when copious amounts of beer is involved, those stupid people often open their mouths.
Maybe he’ll do well in Seattle, but my money’s on no. If it isn’t racism, it’ll be the rainy weather or the coffee, or Kurt Cobain’s ghost or getting hit in the face with a fish. There will be something. Hoping for the best, expecting the worst.
this has been said so many times
and not only is it 100% correct but sadly it is 100% ignored by many

i jsut saw the interview....
i was blackout all day yesterday but wow….. just wow…. the racial stuff is stupid ….im glad hendry went off….ppl need responsibility… btw i kinda secretly love soriano if nothing else he is stand up
4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42
I have reserved my comments as best as I can...
Here is how I see it:
MB is a sad individual. He is an angry, dysfunctional, childish man who has a LOT of talent. He has had the potential to be great at every stop of his career and has found a way to screw it up (less TEX where I wish for everyones’ sake, he stayed there).
I agree that media did what they could to force him to make statements that get them ratings however…a real mature individual would have simply denied the interview altogether, knowing the passion he has for this topic.
We, as a collective whole have to simply chalk him up to being the child that he is and waych to see whether he seals his fate in SEA. I, for one, am not totally convinced that he will suck this year. He is an angry man on a mission to prove Chicago and the Cubs that he can succeed. I wish I could say that inside I hope he does but…
As for the select few, whom I am certain exist, that choose to blast their ignorance out loud at a baseball game, I wish you would go away. I for one have also never heard a racist comment shouted in the bleachers but I am not everywhere.
We need to move on and let Milton be the unstable child that he is and simply be happy that he is gone. Hendry acknowledges his fopa in trying to bring LH power here in the form of MB and for that, I am a bit more at peace with this. Carlos Silva on the other hand…
Anyway, good riddance MB, I am sorry that the rest of your life will likely be as pathetic as it has been thus far. you need help.
Kwa...Ki...Sur...Pee...Nee...Ku?
i didn't see this interview,
but the last one i read about was him saying he was good before he came to the Cubs, and then because he wasn’t good, it was there fault. i just want to say the cubs were good (playoff) team before he came, and they weren’t after he got there….all they need to do to shut him up is win this year. well, that probably won’t shut him up, but it would win the argument.
Bob Brenly on Leo Nunez "Dan Uggla just saved Nunez’ life because Koyie would break him into a million pieces"
I saw your title
and my first thought was “Why am I watching this?”
Bradley is gone. Hendry should have known better. He was Hendry’s worst GM decision but people need to let it go. I didn’t see the interview, I have no interest in seeing the interview. Why do people watch it if they will get upset about it?
April 23, 24 and 25 & July 26, 27, 28 and 29.
Those will be the Mariners’ two appearances in Chicago this year, to play the White Sox at the Cell.
It’ll be real interesting to hear the reaction to MB when he plays there.
