since we have lapses today

My ‘pen chase’ involves five fighting for the last four spots on the pitching staff.

Silva, Shark, Parisi, Diamond, and Russell for four spots.

Cashner a potential sixth.

Sound right?

by timh815 on Mar 15, 2010 3:50 PM CDT reply actions

Silva in the pen?

Doubt it. Look for him to make the club or be released. I’m assuming he’s out of options and I doubt he’d take a trip to Iowa.

by lswaidz on Mar 15, 2010 3:51 PM CDT up reply actions

Not saying for the pen.

Just trying to nail down the twelve.

by timh815 on Mar 15, 2010 3:52 PM CDT up reply actions

In that case

He’s either going to start or he’ll be released. If he pitches like he did last outing I’m ok with him taking 2 or 3 start until Lilly gets back… then we can release him or even trade him for a draft pick or something to Pittsburgh or someone else who will take him.

by lswaidz on Mar 15, 2010 3:53 PM CDT up reply actions

If he goes somewhere,

the Cubs would have to pay his salary. And Pittsburgh seems to have enough problems already. I don’t think there are any teams willing to give the ball every five days to him.

by chilango2 on Mar 15, 2010 3:55 PM CDT up reply actions

I follow the Pittsburgh board enough

They wouldn’t want him. And we can’t trade for picks, though I wish they would allow trades for picks in the last twenty rounds.

Pittsburgh was just an example as they’ve shown a propensity to take our garbage in the past…

That way I can get rid of the DVD’s… I figure I can probably sell all 5 series to someone for around $1000 or something. That should be enough to get at least one series on BluRay one it’s out

It's been slow all weekend.

I really hope that if indeed MLB is having issues, that they will fix them by the time the regular season begins.

Who cares if he's a Cubs fan? This is a football forum! He is a PACKER fan as well. So, from now until March, I’m sure he’ll dedicate a lot of his time here. In late March, then we can be enemies during the baseball season. Besides, the Cubs have perhaps the most loyal baseball fanbase in the country. You have to respect that.
