to drop another $80 on 2 Cubs tickets to see them play one more time in August before I go back to school?? I know that the obvious answer is “YES!!!” but I’m thinking about either 1) cutting back or 2) saving for the playoffs (thinking optimistically)……just thought I’d spring the question

since we have lapses today
My ‘pen chase’ involves five fighting for the last four spots on the pitching staff.
Silva, Shark, Parisi, Diamond, and Russell for four spots.
Cashner a potential sixth.
Sound right?
Silva in the pen?
Doubt it. Look for him to make the club or be released. I’m assuming he’s out of options and I doubt he’d take a trip to Iowa.
Not saying for the pen.
Just trying to nail down the twelve.
In that case
He’s either going to start or he’ll be released. If he pitches like he did last outing I’m ok with him taking 2 or 3 start until Lilly gets back… then we can release him or even trade him for a draft pick or something to Pittsburgh or someone else who will take him.
If he goes somewhere,
the Cubs would have to pay his salary. And Pittsburgh seems to have enough problems already. I don’t think there are any teams willing to give the ball every five days to him.
I follow the Pittsburgh board enough
They wouldn’t want him. And we can’t trade for picks, though I wish they would allow trades for picks in the last twenty rounds.
Tim and Chilango:
Pittsburgh was just an example as they’ve shown a propensity to take our garbage in the past…
They like our kids that we want to trade
For a veteran, maybe the Mets. Or KW on the south side likes guys that were good six years ago
I hope for once, the Cubs let the Shark
stay in Iowa to develop consistency and his third pitch. this up & down stuff can’t be good for his development.

I just started ripping them all onto my media server
That way I can get rid of the DVD’s… I figure I can probably sell all 5 series to someone for around $1000 or something. That should be enough to get at least one series on BluRay one it’s out
Really?
On a geek test that gives accuracy to the 5th decimal place you’re rounding to a tenth of a percent? I scored 25.64576%, but that’s so much lower than I thought I would score.

you should add a few percentage points for asking this question ;)
