Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

I was browsing mlb.com box scores, and noticed that Sheets let 10 runs score without recording an out. I'm not sure if he is rusty from missing a year, or if he is still hurt, but I'm somewhat relieved that we didn't sign him.

spring training still. In 2008 spring training with the Brewers, he went

*Wins: 0
*Loss: 1
*ERA: 9.56
*G: 5
*GS: 5
*IP: 16
*H: 25
*R: 18
*ER: 17
*HR: 5
*BB: 4
*SO: 10
*AVG: .342
and ended up going 13-9 with a 3.09 ERA and a Avg. of .241 in the regular season. Doesn’t mean he’s going to have an era up in the stratosphere and a win/loss record that’s unforgivable.

It's alittle troubling.

And makes me happy we didn’t sign him.

2010 is OUR year.

infinite actually, for that game at least

Obviously there's a lot of time for him to bounce back.

Same for Harden. With that being said, so far it looks like JH dodged two bullets this offseason. It’s so easy to criticize a GM when they make the wrong move and even easier to forget when they don’t make the wrong decision.

I don't think he would suck this bad.

It’s troubling because he’s coming back from surgery also.

2010 is OUR year.

10 runs and no outs has to mess with your mind too

If only Spring Training counted

Let’s wait to declare Hendry a genius until they’ve played some real games.

it seems to count for the Castro and Colvin fan clubs

Yeah, I dunno what to tell you there

We all need to collectively take a step back when jumping to conclusions based on two weeks of spring training.

When healthy...

Sheets is about as good as it gets. But he is as close to the Mark Prior saga that is still playing that I can think of.

Brutal.

Even Silva hasn’t been that bad…and that’s saying something.

Scott Bora$ is satan.

To be completely...

…fair to Sheets, there were three-to-four outs that would have been had if he didn’t have complete scrubs playing behind him. The really important thing I think, is that he’s been pitching without pain and trying out different things.

We’ll have to see how he does Opening Night against King Felix.

Oh, and...

…Sheets’ Spring ERA is 31.00

Holy mackerel!

And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first time at Fight Club, you have to fight.
