The Return Of The Heart Of The Order: Cubs vs. Dodgers at Glendale Preview, Thursday 3/18, 3:05 CT
Derrek Lee and Aramis Ramirez will both return to the starting lineup this afternoon. Complete lineup after the jump.
Meanwhile, entertaining reading can be had at the Dodger Divorce blog, which updates the sad saga of the McCourts several times a week. The current entry has the amazing story of how Jamie was somehow going to get herself elected President of the United States.
And people think this isn't going to affect the team. The question for the Dodgers is, how can they get it to not affect the team?
Also today, Bruce Miles has a summary of how various players are doing this spring so far and how that may affect whether some of them make the team or not.
Ryan Dempster makes his third start of the spring this afternoon. For the Dodgers, it will be Chad Billingsley, followed by Jeff Weaver and knuckleballer Charlie Haeger. There's also a rumor that Manny Ramirez might make his first appearance in the field this spring (he's been exclusively DH'ing up to now).
Lineup via tweet from Carrie:
SS Theriot, RF Fukudome, 1B Lee, 3B Ramirez, CF Colvin, LF Soriano, 2B Fontenot, C Soto, P Dempster
Today's game will be available through the
Today's first pitch thread will post at 3 pm CDT, and the overflow thread at 4:15 pm CDT. Discuss amongst yourselves.

You're missing one.
PBP on BCB: eths
Who cares if he's a Cubs fan? This is a football forum! He is a PACKER fan as well. So, from now until March, I’m sure he’ll dedicate a lot of his time here. In late March, then we can be enemies during the baseball season. Besides, the Cubs have perhaps the most loyal baseball fanbase in the country. You have to respect that.
Go Pack!

Get Tina Turner to record that and I think you have a hit!

This might be worth reading if I ever feel bad. I can have a terrible day, and then I’ll go there and read that blog.

OT: I realize the game's not over yet, but that giant sucking sound you hear...
…is all the sphincters tightening across America as #15 seed Robert Morris is leading #2 seed Villanova by 6 with just over 3 minutes left.
Lou Brown: "My kinda team, Charlie, my kinda team..."
Robert Morris is going to fall apart in OT
They played great though
Glad I took them +17
Nova only up 1
with 35 seconds left!
Quite the game.

New lineup
from Carrie:
Theriot, The Fuke, Lee, Colvin, Fontenot, Soriano, Tracy 3B, Soto, Dempster
She notes that there are no problems with Ramirez, just giving him one more day. He’s making the trip to Glendale tomorrow.

it's kind of amazing ...
that they wouldn’t put Soriano in the fourth or fifth spots in favor of Colvin and Fontenot! Either way you slice it — if Soriano is hitting well enough to hit fourt or fifth or Lou thinks it’s THAT important to keep Soriano in one spot ALL the time — it’s depressing.
Last time I remember checking
Sori was not exactly tearing it up in the batter’s box (I could be wrong though).
It is a little scary to see Lou treat Soriano with such gentleness. I get the impression (right or wrong) that Lou feels that Sori has a very sensitive psyche that will be damaged if he gets moved around in the order too much.

I'm assuming this will happen later in spring
But I like to see the opening day roster together. Maybe Byrd will come in later

Colvin hitting in Aram's spot..
Glad to see Lou challenging him to produce against the A-team in the clutch hitting role. Excellent. This wil either validate or give pause to those who say that prospect’s numbers only matter when going against MLB pitchers. Wishing the kid luck.
