cant get the page....anyone else having a problem?

baseball.........is Kool Aid the remedy, or the cause of my desire for it

by cooliogirl47 on Mar 3, 2010 8:02 AM CST reply actions

Strange

The page appears to have been taken down, but it still appears in the www.mlbtraderumors.com search results.

mlbtraderumors.com linked to this as their source:

RHP Juan Yasser Serrano may have signed a $250,000 contract with the Chicago Cubs. Cuban Ball Players cannot confirm the validity of this rumor. Serrano pitched for the Villa Clara Orangemen in the Cuban League.

first one I found

Doesn’t sound that special, but for $250 k, that’s worth a gamble. Send him to Peoria. Or Boise.

Agreed.

This isn’t a big money signing, but could turn out decent, since he’s so young (supposedly).

F@CK YOU, JOBU!

I do it myself!

And just think… that ball player would become the president of the united states…

Forget all that other stuff. I gotta believe.

Sadly, at this point, it would more likely be his father.

You realize that movie came out in 1989? Right about when this Serrano was born.

by Orval Overall on Mar 3, 2010 12:17 PM CST up reply actions

One could update the movie to be set in 2010 pretty easily

Edit the newspaper (remember those?) headlines in the opening sequence and a couple of early remarks by the showgirl widow, and throw in a CGI of Willie Mays Hayes tweeting from the dugout. Then we can all dream of having Jake, Eddie, Pedro, and Ricky on our team again. And of having a cantankerous manager named Lou…

So we have a Cuban and a Castro

Okay, just so I understand it... in your wildest fantasy, you are in hell. And you are co-running a bed and breakfast with the devil.

As long as its not a Cuban Castro

He wasn’t much of a prospect from what I hear.

Wasn't Fidel pretty good back in the day?
