Heck
Coolest thing I got out of it was the willingness to spend some money mid-season if need be. Nice to hear Ricketts make that clear.
"Ask Dad. He'll know. And on the off chance he doesn't, he'll make something up"
he said that a while ago
and there was a post about it as well

Hopefully Crane Kenney takes the hint
And sticks to the business side.

All of what's in this article...
… was stated in the interview I did with Ricketts and Kenney three weeks ago.
"You can observe a lot just by watching." ~ Yogi Berra
Knew it sounded familiar.
Plus, wouldn’t it be logical to let the GM make the decision anyway?
If Ricketts is a man of his word, and I believe him to be one, he’ll stay out of on-field personnel decisions. So far he seems to be doing exactly that.
I'd like him to plan on 6 MIL in
bonuses for the June draft.
I'm actually looking forward to this season
with the more friendly ownership. I’ll be even more excited around August when all the rumors come crashing into the wall and last minute deals are made.

If he is, it probably means the organization is in good shape
Beacuse I think that if they crap out, a change will be made. Ricketts would be a lousy boss if he made that statement publicly, though.

Lou will have a lot to do with it also.
I think Lou is at the post in his career where he is probably perfectly content to work on a one-year contract from here on out. He could retire at any time, and the only thing keeping him going right now would be the opportunity to win a championship. If the Cubs completely tank this year, I doubt he will even want another year. If they win the World Series, he’ll probably call it a career. If they make the playoffs but come up short, or barely miss the playoffs, that’s the scenario where he might want to come back, but I doubt he would commit for more than one more year.
