5 rejected ads from the Cubs "It's a Way of life" campaign
The Cubs are running a big campaign featuring images of fandom staples called "It's a Way of Life." A blogger has unearthed five ads that were rejected from the campaign. Why were they rejected? It's hard to say...

those are funny...btw... is that what "troughs" are in the bathroom picture?

The Troughs are on the walls to the left and right
That’s a hand-washing station right in the middle of the picture. Yes, we do wash our hands. Most of us. Most of the time.
They have added hand-sanitizers now too.
But the men’s room was too bright and clean. Almost sparkly. Like 2AM in a bar and the lights are turned up. I don’t want to see all that.

So now you know!
But I’m surprised
That more people (guys) are not familiar with “troughs”. For years they have been used in large facilities – including state fairgrounds, sports complexes, recreational facilities, and even industrial settings. They are an efficient way of serving a large number of people. If they converted to urinals I think there would be increased incidents of public urination. You get Joe College with enough beers in him and he’s likely to drop trou just about anywhere to take a leak.

here's a stupid question....is there water in them, do they flush?...just curious

Yeah
Its like a drip system where water continuously runs. One time when I was there they gave away free bobbleheads of the Empire today guy – and someone chucked one in the trough – must of been a disgruntled customer or employee.

I agree
It was pretty funny/weird maybe someone got screwed on some carpet or something. But seriously, alot of people complain about the troughs, but they work for the tight quarters that exisit in a historic ballpark. As long as they keep the restrooms clean they really are not that big of a deal. Now I say this with alot of bias because I rarely leave my seat when I go to a ballgame.

Why do you have that link handy?
On second thought, I don’t want to know.

When I went to U of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana
I was in a dorm floor that had been converted to co-ed. The women’s rooms had disconnected urinals, and the ladies of the floor planted flowers in them. Nice…and springtime fresh!

it's funny
because right now, Fukudome’s line is .400/.429/.650/1.079 with an OPS+ of 169.
Forget all that other stuff. I gotta believe.
They could put the
Working lunch in there too. Sadley it sucks as much as the parody ones.

I agree. I thought it was one of the made up ones at first.

Indeed he could.
