If we could just score a run
That would make the coming loss sting a little less.
And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first time at Fight Club, you have to fight.
How about not losing
That would be awesome!

And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first time at Fight Club, you have to fight.
I never give him credit for the good times.
Managers get too much credit when teams win or lose.
2010 is OUR year.
The only ones that deserved the credit they got were
Billy Martin and Dick Williams. Both performed nothing short of miracles. Too bad their lousy personalities got the better of them at each managerial stop.

What decisions are causing this team to lose?
Sure, their are lineup decisions that irk me, and the fact he lets a guy pitch 10 pitches for one inning and doesn’t think about putting him out for another inning.
But none of these decisions should make or break some of these losses. We THINK Colvin might hit better than Fukudome, we THINK some of the decisions should be made, but we fail to realize that those decisions can fail too.
The makeup of this team is the problem so far.
2010 is OUR year.
Ummm, you came pretty close to answering your own question
“Sure, their are lineup decisions that irk me, and the fact he lets a guy pitch 10 pitches for one inning and doesn’t think about putting him out for another inning.”
As I said, this team is not good, they certainly are not good enough to overcome borderline/insanely bad decisions.
I guess I'm just a worrier, that's why my friends call me whiskers
by Nunyabidness on Apr 20, 2010 9:02 PM CDT up reply actions
That does not a case for him to be fired.
Seriously. Those things irk me, but those things should NOT be a major reason someone gets fired.
He doesn’t have alot that he can do about his lineup in reality.
2010 is OUR year.
His continuing to make asinine managerial decisions over and over and over
certainly makes the case for me.
But we’ll have to agree to disagree. I’d rather have a manager who has some idea how to actually manage a roster
I guess I'm just a worrier, that's why my friends call me whiskers

And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first time at Fight Club, you have to fight.

And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first time at Fight Club, you have to fight.

Yeah well
It’s a regular season award. My biggest criticism of Piniella is that he’s not a good postseason manager. Now he’s not a good manager at all.
And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first time at Fight Club, you have to fight.
It's a regular season
award that is completely over-rated. If the Pirates win the division this year, Bill Elliott deserves the manager of the year.
Jim Tracy just took control at the right time - and the team performed well (as well as they should of - they have some good talent on that team).
2010 is OUR year.
Lol that's just willful ignorance.
Tracy obviously had a tremendous impact on that team.
Firing Lou Might be the Only Option
When you have an aging underperforming team like we do, sometimes you have no choice but to fire the manager. Can’t fire all 25 players. Sometimes firing the manager lights a fire in the players, changes the chemistry etc.
Lou’s in-game decisions this year have been fine. His lineups have been fine. Nitpicking about things like that drive me crazy. That isn’t why we are losing and is classic second-guessing. The bottom-line is a start players are not performing and we have too many flawed players starting on this team (Fukudome, Theriot, Fontenot) to overcome a period where our big guns aren’t firing on all cylinders. That, in combination with the bullpen being a total disaster (not Lou’s fault, the pitchers are just not that good) makes every possible move potentially disastrous. You can quibble with some of Lou’s moves, but that isn’t why we are losing.
If you want to fire Lou to shake things up and get another voice in the clubhouse I am all for that. But, if you seriously think we are losing because of actual managerial moves during the games I think you are delusional.

We need a force of optimism. To fight all of this negativity. There must be some other optimists on this blog that will help us in our journey…Are you in??

As long as you are fully aware that his
optimism is not the least bit sincere and is reeking of sarcasm. Doesn’t bother me though, I find it humorous
Sacastic optimism is still optimism to the eye of the beholder.
mine could be masochistic too you know ; )

When you walk a pitcher with 2 outs you deserve to loose
Thats on the pitcher, catcher, pitching coach and manger
Just throw fastballs, there is a 2 in 10 chance he (the opposing pitcher) will even make contact.
