Lets go Cubs go!
For the record, I would have started Blanco at SS and Theriot at 2B for 2010, and released either Baker or Fontenot.

But seriously, I don’t understand it. He doesn’t get the start against a RHP like Pelfrey, but starts against a LHP tonight in Perez? Makes no sense.

Since we're on a rain delay here...
Anybody have any thoughts about the Cubs pulling a Yankees and starting their own network?
With the resurgence of the Hawks and McDonough over there, I’ve been thinking about the possibility of a Cubs network.
Get that thing up and running by the time these dog contracts clear the books and go from there…talk about wiping the slate clean…

I'm sure it's on the drawing board but won't be happening any time soon

God help us if he can’t relief pitch, though. It’s a high risk move by the Cubs, unless it’s a temoprary thing. Lou’s just so emotinoal sometimes, if he’s the one that made the call, you can’t ever tell what he’s going to do next.

Someone should Remind Bob
That Pujols is an NL first basemen
To eliminate exclusion, we cut out the differences to feel like we belong.
The Z thing reminds of LeTroy Hawkins
When JoBo got injured Dusty asked him to step in a closer , despite the fact that he had previously totally sucked at that and was a terrific set up man. He was a terrible closer and never the same as good as a set up man. He did it for the good of the team because they supposedly could o not find anyone else. Pretty much killed the 04 season.
"I am not ashamed to say I love Greg Maddux" - Jim Hendry
Me either Jim
Except Hawkins has had far more experience has a closer
than Z did a reliever. Hawkins to closer was predictable, but this move came outta nowehere.
I loved
when Hawkins caught a liner spun to first and then to third had no play and then back to first threw it for no reason off the runners helmet at first into the crowd.
"Hey.....Cubs win!!!" ---Harry
"Swung on belted!!!"---Chip
Haha, poor hawkins
He would have been an exceptional setupman if Baker didn’t keep trotting him out as the closer.

I was harking back to the early days of ESPN, when I was in college and the America’s Cup was being contested down under off the coast of Australia. The hell with studying – or sleeping. For some reason, it was really cool to watch two boats moving fairly fast but nothing really changing. Such are the mindless pleasures of youth… ;-)
