In Baseball, Power Matters, but Not Absolutely
There is a reflex among baseball people to praise the little things. The game’s greatest virtues are said to be situational hitting, taking the extra base and, most of all, pitching and defense. To suggest that games are won with power is like saying pizza tastes good. Everybody knows it, but most people would rather say they eat health food.

I get the point about power...
but nice apples and oranges comparison between the Mets and the Yankees.
Gee… let’s compare the HRs hit by the team who was a MASH unit playing home games in Yellowstone National Park against the HRs hit by the highest paid team in the league playing home games on a little league field.
Well, they play in the same city… so that’s a reasonable comparison.
Well, to be fair, the author kind of makes this same point in the article:
There were many reasons for the difference in the New York teams. The Mets were ravaged by injuries, and their new ballpark, Citi Field, is far more spacious than the new Yankee Stadium.

I hear Citi has MUCH better food than Yankee Stadium though.

Don't know about the new Yankee Stadium.
But the food was pretty good at Citi. And by NYC standards, not overpriced.
