I recently bought bleacher tickets for a Cubs Brewers game and I have heard that there is a lot of swearing and drinking going on in the bleachers. So i was wondering which part of the bleachers (left, center, or right) would have the least amount of swearing going on that would be best to bring a family to?

by gocubs1 on Apr 7, 2010 5:32 PM CDT reply actions

I don't know that there is a best part you really just need to look around

Find a place where you see other kids and fewer shirtless guys. I am sure you would be welcome to sit in Al’s little corner
which is sort of self isolated by the short rows in far LF corner. The group there makes sure no drunken morons sit in their rows,
but hard to control rows in front but it usually tame. The crazies to tend to go for bottom rows and towards the center.

A few areas are better than others

But no matter where you go there will be lots of drunk college students. You may be safe in right center just next to the berm, or else all the way in the left field corner. The other option is to sit in the upper section below the scoreboard, but you end up being pretty far from the field up there.

by cubbieblue86 on Apr 9, 2010 8:51 AM CDT up reply actions

If you get there early

Sit right next to the CF juniper bush area, in the front couple of rows. When players hit HR balls into the bushes during BP, an usher will jump in and retrieve the ball. When he comes out, he usually gives it to the closest kid he says.

Then, when BP is over, go up to sit with Al and his friends in the far LF corner.

Alternatively, if you’re just in the middle of the bleachers somewhere, try to chat a little with the people around you before the game. Then, if anyone starts to get out of hand, and you give them that little “hey, kids here!” glance, they’ll be more likely to shush each other. My experience is the college kids don’t get bad until about the sixth inning, when the beers really kick in.

And going to today’s game. I will have my Friday tickets there today. Make me an offer and we can meet at the ballpark or on my way home tonight (downtown or southside). At this point, I’d sell them for a penny if someone would just send me the giveaway afterward (a W banner).
